There’s substance to the lyrics. Her new style suits her voice and showcases her talent. She can really sing, and does it with gentle clarity and soulful emotion. She also knew how to engage the audience, always having something delightful to say. Leighton Meester’s debut with Check in the Dark was amazing. They couldn’t have hoped for a better show. ♫ We waited until about 9:30 pm for Leighton to come on stage. As soon as she appeared, the crowd would not stop roaring. Leighton Meester is known for her role as Blair Waldorf on the TV hit series, Gossip Girl. Let me tell you this-she should be known for her music. Her songs are beyond description. To call them phenomenal would be an understatement.♪♪ First of all, the songs are nothing like the usual pop main-stream songs. They are very touching and the lyrics definitely flow from the heart. Secondly, her voice is very soothing and fits her genre very well. Last but definitely not least, Leighton is a born performer. She is VERY down to earth. Ever seen an artist blush on stage when someone yells, “I love you!”? Ya well, Leighton did-more than once. She has that look that keeps you from taking your eyes off of her.
