Leighton, as well as Kelly Rutherford, is listed as "longshot" for an Emmy nomination. that means she probably won't be nominated, but hey it's great that she's listed. teen dramas like GG usually NEVER have nominees.

her submission episode was Seventeen Candles. good episode, but I think there were betters ones out there for her. Thin Line Between Chuck and Nate would have been my pick. Bad News Blair, Pilot, and Victor/Victrola were also great. here were the other submissions, if anyone is curious.

to elaborate, I personally don't like the GG submissions at all. Blake and Leighton were both supporting actresses, with no lead, and Penn was a lead actor, and the other guys were supporting. weird. nor do I like their individual episode selections.

I would have really loved for GG to get a nom somewhere because even if it was a "teen drama" it was still a huge hit this year. and Leighton would obviously be my fave pick. but I really doubt it will happen. =[

Leighton! I'm so happy at that, teen dramas are never recognised so the fact that she is mentioned shows how fab she is

I think they submitted for supporting actress because they have a greater chance of being nominated in that category over the leading actress category. Connie Britton of FNL also entered as a supporting actress when she is clearly the lead female of the show.

But I agree, I don't think Seventeen Candles would've been my pick either. She had better eps, 'The Thin Line...' is my favorite of hers.
