What does everyone think about comments that Blair is easy to play because she's a bitch? I've seen that around and some people seem to think Leighton has the easiest job because she gets to act bitchy.

Totally don't agree with it being easy!

She could be a bitch and everyone would hate her.

EXCEPT that the majority of people love her. She can be a bitch, but she always shows that other side. I think it is very hard to show those sides.

I mean i haven't heard of many likeable bitches on TV. But i just love Blair.

How is it easy to play a bitch? Especially one that goes through so many mood swings as Blair?

I commend Leighton for portraying Blair the way she does because so often actresses come off smug when they play "the bitch." Leighton isn't. She comes off as sassy and very... sophisticated and formidable.

no, being bitchy isn't easy. And that's not all Blair is. Blair is a very complex character, and it takes a great deal of skill to play her. Leighton does amazing at it, everyone loves her, they're just jealous.

I agree, a lot of actresses come off smug when they play bitchy characters. Leighton is great because she makes Blair likable and even though you disagree with her actions, you're still on her side.

Some actors do say that it's easy to play a crazy person because the character's actions are so much edgier. Pretty much anyone can shout. But even though Blair is an edgy character, she still has so much more going on. I guess I could see the point to call the role easy, if she would only be bitchy with no insecurities or feelings etc. But there's so much more to Blair than that.
