The Wildcats are a team.
The basketball team in the phenomenon that is High School Musical.
But they are not only a basketball team, not just a basketball team.
The Wildcats are a close group of friends, both in the movies as in real life.
Not only did they shoot movies together, they grew up together and became friends for life.
The term Wildcats covers quite a group of people, though the main six will be introduced here.

Ashley Tisdale showed her talent to the world
by portraying the snobby, spoiled,
slightly evil Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical franchise,
a character that couldn’t be more different from
her kind and warm-hearted personality.
This wasn’t her first time working for the
Disney Channel. Previously, Ashley had
starred in three seasons of The Suite Life
as Maddie Fitzpatrick.
Further, Ashley has starred in the
made-for-abc movie Picture This! and
reappeared on the big screen in Aliens In The Attic.
Ashley has agreed on doing a HSM spin-off,
focusing on her character, Sharpay Evans,
which is planned to be released in the summer of 2011.
Other future projects contain the cheerleading
series Hellcats, and there are rumours of Ashley
starring in the comedy My first last time and
Holly, Jingles and Clyde.
Besides from being a gifted actress,
Ashley voices the Phineas and Ferb character Candace,
and has released two albums, Headstrong and Guilty Pleasure.

Zac Efron may be best known for his role as Wildcat leader,
Troy Bolton in the High School Musical movies.
However, his career started out with a remarkable
performance in the movie Miracle Run.
Later, Zac made a guest appearance in the TV series
Summerland, as Cameron Bayle. Apparently though,
the audience liked him so much he became a regular,
until the series ended after two seasons.
Furthermore, Zac has starred in a remake
of the musical Hairspray, as crooner Link Larkin,
shared the role of Mike O’Donnell in the Big-reversed
comedy 17 Again, and portrays Charlie St. Cloud in the filmed
version of the book The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud.
Future projects are the movie adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel,
The Lucky One, a remake of Snabba Cash,
Einstein Theory, Art of the Steal, and an untitled project
described as a sexy thriller.

Vanessa Hudgens gives shape to brainiac Gabriella Montez
in the High School Musical franchise.
Although she mainly got known because of that,
she starred in blockbusters Thunderbirds and Thirteen before.
After High School Musical, she starred alongside Aly Michalka in Bandslam,
and portrays Lindy in Beastly, a movie that will be released in 2011.
She is bound to star in the movie Sucker Punch,
and will take on the role of Mimi in Rent on Broadway in August 2010.
Vanessa had also released two albums, V and Identified.

Corbin Bleu gained fame portraying Chad Danforth,
Troy’s sidekick in High School Musical.
Furthermore he was the lead in another Disney Channel
movie Jump In! and has starred in the TV Series The Beautiful Life.
Currently Corbin is on Broadway, in the musical production In The Heights.
He has also released an album called Another Side.

Monique Coleman plays another brainiac named Taylor McKessie
in the High School Musical movies.
Besides this, she is mainly known from her appearance on
Dancing with the Stars, where she finished fourth.
Monique has also starred in TV Series like Malcolm in the Middle,
Veronica Mars and Boston Public.

Lucas Grabeel’s High School Musical character Ryan Evans,
is the obedient brother of ice queen Sharpay Evans.
The real son, College road trip and Milk are only a few of the
projects he starred in. His most recent project however,
is the musical I Kissed a Vampire.
