Yeah, I get it. I just... I like Drew, I do, but I just feel kind of bitter that they didn't let Zac sing in the first movie.

When Zac was chosen to play Troy in the movie, all the songs (that had Troy singing) were written for a tenor voice & Zac's voice was too deep to hit some of those notes. That's one reason (I've heard) why they used Drew as Troy's singing voice (since he has the vocal ability to hit those high notes).

There were only a couple of scenes in the first movie where Zac sings in his actual voice. One of which was when he climbed up to Gabriella's room & sang to her on her balcony.

I'm not sure if it's true or not, but I had heard (read) that Zac didn't even know they had used Drew's voice until he saw the movie. Like they didn't even tell him they weren't going to use his voice for the songs. I'm sure that's why he was hesitant to do the 2nd one and said he would only do it if they used his voice. I don't think he liked "taking credit" for "Troy's" voice when it wasn't him.

Again, I don't know if this is 100% true or not, but I could totally understand why he wouldn't want to do 2!

I love Drew in Another Cinderella Story!

I think him & Selena have great chemistry in that movie, even though they're 10 years apart!

I just looked it up and I read that they had actually used both Zac and Drew's voices and they blended them together, so really it was both of their voices at once. I just can't figure out what parts which of them sang.

Well, that's technically true, but Zac's voice was only heard during a somewhat acapella part, like at the beginning of Start of Something New and Breaking Free. But I don't think Zac's voice was used at all during the actual song.

Zac's voice was used for a few minor parts, but the majority was Drew.

I don't think they would let Zac record songs and then don't use his voice, though? Because that's just wasting time they could spend letting others record or even rehearsing or filming. I'm sure he already knew, but just didn't like it.

That could be it. Like I said, I didn't know if it was true or not, but I thought I had read somewhere he had said that.

Anyway, I'm glad they let him sing in 2 & 3 because he has an amazing voice!
