Oh yeah, I don't think it will be entirely smooth sailing for Jake and Amy either, but I think it was pretty obviously the plan from the very beginning. I honestly don't get people who were surprised initially that they were going down that path - it was so obvious!

Fortunately there's not a lot of people who are really against Jake/Amy, but seriously, I've read articles that literally said everything good from the show is gone this season and that's ridiculous.

I hope you have a good weekend too! Any plans?

Yeah, I know! That's what I'm talking about!

People are so cynical and have no hope that the show can work just as well with Jake/Amy being a couple. We might even get more hilarity from it.

Yeah, I seriously doubt that the show will go downhill from here. Usually, couples getting together definitely has a bad influence on comedies like this, but these writers are competent, so I have faith!

Tonight's episode didn't even have them interacting. Amy made like one reference to his apartment and that was it. The rest was Jake/Boyle-centric, so people better stop complaining, because these writers know what they're doing.

And I know right? And last night's episode was absolutely wonderful. All three plots were great and I have to give the writers major kudos for actually appropriately acknowledging police brutality and doing it with their usual light tone!

I'm really happy with the way they approached it.

It did justice to the issue, and they didn't do it in a "very special episode" way, which would not fit with the tone of the show!
