The Office - Season 3 Discussion Thread #1

EPISODES
"Gay Witch Hunt" - It's four months after "Casino Night" and there are a number of changes at Dunder Mifflin. When Michael unintentionally outs Oscar, he has to work hard to keep the office (and himself) in check. Also, we find out what happened with Jim and Pam.

"The Convention" - Michael and Dwight meet up with Jim at an office-supply convention in Philadelphia and Pam goes on her first date since breaking up with Roy.

"The Coup" - After Jan busts Michael for showing a movie during office hours instead of working, Angela suggests to Dwight that he take Michael's job. Also, Pam has a lunchtime fashion show and Jim gets killed in a Local Area Network computer game.

"Grief Counseling" - After learning that his old boss, the former regional manager, has died, Michael attempts to guide the Dunder Mifflin staff through the horrifying idea of death.

"Initiation" - It's pretzel day at the Office. Dwight takes Ryan through an initiation test that involves his beet farm. Jim switches his squeaky chair with Karen's good chair.

"Diwali" - Michael encourages the entire Scranton branch to support Kelly and attend a local celebration of Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Andy convinces Jim to turn a late night of work into a drinking game.

"Branch Closing" - When Jan tells Michael that the Scranton Branch will be shutting down, Michael strives to keep his staff's spirits up. Michael and Dwight go on a mission to persuade Corporate to change its mind, while the Stamford boss quits, causing Jan to change her mind about which branch to eliminate. Jim struggles with the decision of returning to Scranton and facing Pam again.

"The Merger" - The Scranton branch and the Stamford branch of Dunder Mifflin are merged, bringing 'old friends' Jim and Pam back together after months apart. Michael and Dwight and the other employees deal with the changes.

"The Convict" - Michael discovers that one of his new coworkers has a criminal past and Jim "coaches" Andy on how to make a move on Pam. This episode is written by the creators of the original British series, Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant.

"A Benihana Christmas" - In a one-hour episode, Michael sends out an inappropriate photoshopped Christmas card and gets his heart broken by Carol. Andy takes Michael out drinking with Dwight and Jim, while tensions on the party planning committee among Angela, Pam and Karen cause rival parties to form.

"Back from Vacation" - Michael returns from his Jamaican vacation a relaxed and revitalized man, but that quickly changes when a spicy vacation photograph makes its way around the office. Jim and Karen have an argument — with Pam caught in the middle of it all.

"Traveling Salesmen" - Staffers pair up for sales calls, leading to some interesting, insightful moments in the field. Dwight attempts to cover for Angela after she misses an important deadline. Karen receives surprising information.

"The Return" - When Oscar returns from vacation, Michael orders the party-planning committee to organize a bash for him. Andy exploits recent events to inch closer to Michael; and Jim colludes with Pam to trick someone in the office—but the target's not Dwight.

"Ben Franklin" - Acting on bad advice from his friend Todd Packer, Michael brings two "adult" performers into the office - a stripper and Ben Franklin - in honor of Phyllis's wedding shower. Karen confronts Pam about her past with Jim.

"Phyllis' Wedding" - Phyllis regrets giving Michael an important job at her wedding after several embarrassing moments. After seeing the church, Pam realizes that Phyllis has stolen all of Pam's plans for her own wedding, everything from the monogramed invitations to the dress and floral arrangements. Jim convinces Dwight that there could be wedding crashers amongst the crowd.

"Business School" - Ryan invites Michael to be a guest speaker at his business school. Dwight battles a bat that gets loose in the office while Pam invites co-workers to her first art show. Jim pretends that the bat attacked and bit him and with Karen's help, simulates his transformation into a vampire in order to mess with Dwight.

"Cocktails" - At a company event, Jan and Michael decide to come clean to the CFO about their relationship. While the rest of the office goes out for drinks, Jim meets Karen's ex. Pam decides that she should be more assertive and more honest in her renewed relationship with Roy.

"The Negotiation" - After Darryl discusses a pay raise with Michael, they go with Toby to Corporate in order to negotiate the raise. Meanwhile, Jim must deal with the consequences of Pam's confession to Roy.

"Safety Training" - Returning from anger management, Andy promises to make amends with his co-workers. Michael and Dwight lead the employees in safety training.

"Product Recall" - Dunder Mifflin is thrown into damage control when paper is released with an obscene watermark. Michael addresses the media while Jim and Andy try to calm a school principal who used the affected paper to send out invitations to the prom.

"Women's Appreciation" - Michael takes the women out after Phyllis gets flashed. Dwight and Andy try to catch the perpetrator.

"Beach Games" - Michael takes the office on a trip to the beach, where he creates Survivor-style challenges for his employees to compete in.

"The Job" - In an hour-long episode, Michael, Jim and Karen interview for a job opening at Corporate, leaving Dwight in charge of the Scranton branch.

Oh, I so want the DVDs, but it will take months to be released here and when they do that, they usually sell the DVDs with no extras. *pouts*

I'm glad a dear friend gave me the S2 box from abroad, otherwise I would be stuck with DVDs with no extras. I have S1 with anything but the episodes. So not fair... [/rant]

At least you have the dvds I had a choice between buying myself the dvds I wanted and eating and well... I like to eat But hopefully they'll get less pricey on the amazon soon and I'll be able to order myself. Especially since I've only seen S3 once and I don't remember it in details.
I don't even know if they sell the US version here. I know they do the UK one and I've seen that thing that's supposed to be the French version (which majorly sucks. I couldn't handle more than one episode) but I'm not sure about US...

That sucks. I will never understand why the same features can't be put on all DVD's no matter where they're released.

I agree! I never understood that, it doesn't make sense.

I loved season three.

Yeah, it doesn't make any sense.

Anyways, I will figure out a way to get them. The season has great episodes!

It sure did. Can you order it online from somewhere like Amazon, and get the US verison with the bonus features?

I hate it when some stores have the "superspecialsekret" edition. Like at Target or Best Buy or something. Meh.

Can't wait to get my DVDs, too. And the new season is just right around the corner!

Well, I was going to buy season 3 at Target anyway (it's the closest store to my new apt), but having something extra on it works for me

I am really excited to actually go through and watch the episodes again, now that I know how it "ends." I remember hating the Stamford episodes because I just didn't like Jim and Pam not in the same office. But now I think I'll be able to enjoy them as they are

I can't wait to get the dvds.

I'm also getting it at Target though the Best Buy deal is tempting me

I hate it when stores do that.

I'm getting mine at Target because I want the bonus DVD more than the Dundie & Bobblehead.
