Yea, he interned a while back. They've talked about it on Conan before. I meant this is his first time on the new show. MBV was pickin' up what I was puttin' down.

I just watched a bit ago. They should have let him stay the whole show. Blake Griffin was a snooze fest. They really need to teach athletes (mainly basketball/football players) how to have a decent interview.

Thanks for that article, I think it's a really good analysis of his career and future. I do think with his upcoming projects and the change in agencies that he's attempting a slightly different approach.

I find the marionette impression both hilarious and creepy; he's so good at it.

Thanks, MBV. I've seen a few things recently that have pushed him into a Tom Hanks-ish genre lately. I don't think that's too shabby and I could easily see him fitting himself amongst most of the roles that Tom has done in the past. As much as i love George Clooney and even though we know they're close already, I can't see John leading that kind of career. Though it's starting out similar with the tv heartthrob onto crappy movie path. Hopefully John can shake it before he makes Out of Sight 2 or Men Who Stare at Goats 2 or a bad Batman film..

Yeah, I don't see JK as the next Clooney at all. While I think JK is an extremely idealised version of the 'Everyman', he still seems more accessible than Clooney.

I was misremembering Matthew Perry's movie career, JK's already good in comparison.

I really can't see John playing an unlikeable character though. I just can't. I can definitely see him taking the John Cusack leading role path though, and not just because I love them both

That's probably why JK should take on a different role. I don't think he's anything like GC though and I don't want him to be but I want him to get more and better opportunities. I don't want him getting type-cast. He has to show that he isn't just Jim. I hope his new projects help with that.
