As an avid foam finger collector, you probably know which is my favorite.

I put the link to GMMR in the photo thread because she said that she'd be putting scans up by tomorrow.

Wow, that's so cool that you collect foam fingers Sara! I'm embarrassed to admit that I've never actually purchased one before - even though I've wanted to. I guess it's time to correct that

Everyone should at least own one finger. I've been collecting for a good seven years or so and have about forty. They line the top of my walls around my room. My dad cringes each time I nail another one up.

I've had a lot of people get them for me and for a while I was rating trips on how many fingers I got. Minnesota still ranks highest with five.

I don't get them as often as I used to because they've really jumped in price. They used to be between like $3 for college ones and $5 for pro sports but some are up to like $8-$10. That's a little too much for me.

ETA: SCANS ARE UP AT GMMR!

Oh, thanks for letting us know about the scans Sara! I feeling really sick right now, so I don't think I'll be iconning tonight (I'll be lucky to stay awake through dinner), but I'll try to get some done by the weekend.

I love how WENN always manages to spin things to make them sounds so much different from what actually happened:
Quote:
KRASINSKI WANTS A DUNKIN' DONUTS FRANCHISE

THE OFFICE star JOHN KRASINSKI is bidding to add businessman to his resume - he wants to open a Dunkin' Donuts franchise.

Since moving to Los Angeles to star in the U.S. version of the British sitcom and launch a movie career, the Massachusetts native is missing the fast-food chain's coffee - because the nearest branch is 390 miles (620 kilometres) away in the California state capital Sacramento.

He reveals, "It's my dream to open an Dunkin' Donuts. You can't beat the coffee. I Googled it once and the nearest one is in Sacramento. I think we can do better than that. I'm going to open one."
Watch the second half of John's Leno interview last night and you'll see why this sounds so silly.

Awesome Sara! I've been looking forward to the Unscripted since I first heard about it!!

OMIGOSH! That made me laugh so hard! My throat hurts SO much right now, but I loved it! When they started riffing about porn (I won't spoil it more than that!), I started crying because I was laughing so hard! And don't forget to watch the bonus clips cause they are just as funny!

If they can't make my dream come true with Jon Stewart, Steve Carell and Brian Williams are on my television all the time, then I think John and George would be my runner up wish cause I just can't stop laughing!

And here's the Parade magazine article:
Quote:
In Step With...John Krasinski
By James Brady

Just eight years ago, John Krasinski was working as an intern for Conan O’Brien at NBC—running errands and dreaming not of acting one day but of writing scripts, which he thought would be a “safer” career choice. The show’s head writer took John aside and said, “Don’t even try making it as a writer. It’s too tough. Try acting instead.”

“I’d done a little theater work and was in a university sketch-comedy group,” said the lanky and refreshingly candid Krasinski, “so I took the advice.” Now he’s starring in the hit NBC sitcom The Office.

As for his personal success, John added, “It’s like winning the lottery. It’s pure luck.”

I wondered aloud if he’d been slaving away as an intern for O’Brien when I was there interviewing Conan for PARADE. “Maybe,” said John, “but I wouldn’t have said ‘hello.’ I’d have been too scared.”

How had he survived the writers’ strike?

“I spent my time off editing and working on my next movie,” said John. “I really missed The Office. I was dying to get back. It’s more like a theater family than television—like we do a different play every week. We’re back on the air beginning April 10 and plan to do six or seven episodes.

“I would be nowhere without this show,” added John. “Every single door that has opened to me is due to The Office.”

One of those doors that opened is Leatherheads, co-starring George Clooney and Renée Zellweger. It’s a 1920s-era romantic comedy about the early days of pro football, when players wore leather helmets with no face masks and made a few hundred bucks a game.

“I play a college football star, a sort of Red Grange,” said Krasinski. “Clooney owns a professional team that’s losing money and thinks that if he can just get the No. 1 college player, the team can become big-time.” And do he and George compete for Renée’s affections? “We do,” John said, “but she’s so cool and awesome, and he’s who he is. So, even in a movie, it’s hard to vie for the same girl with George Clooney.”

What’s Clooney like as a director? “A very classy guy—hands-on and enthusiastic, and his enthusiasm is contagious,” said John. “He insists that you work to achieve what he calls ‘a good moment.’ ”

The movie Krasinski was working on during the strike— Brief Interviews With Hideous Men—is what he calls “a small, art-house thing,” based on a favorite novel of his by David Foster Wallace. John directed, wrote the adaptation and appears onscreen. But he laughs off suggestions that he’s now a cinematic triple threat. “I’m still trying to be a single threat,” he said.

Brady's Bits
John grew up in a house just down the hill from Boston College. “B.C. is an awesome school,” he said, “and I love my parents, but did I really want to walk home every afternoon after class?” So he chose Brown. In high school, Krasinski played hoops, ran cross-country and played a little football as a wide receiver, “but I couldn’t follow the ball with my eyes, so I didn’t catch many.” And at Brown? “My brother played basketball, and I dropped by practice one day. But when I saw how big everyone was, I forgot about it.” So John concentrated on academics, graduating with honors as a playwright. These days, he has a bachelor pad in Hollywood. Lots of hot babes? “No,” he replied. “I’m working too hard.”

Personal
Born Oct. 20, 1979, in Newton, Mass. Single.

Why You Know Him
He appeared in the films Kinsey, Jarhead and License To Wed but is best known as nice-guy sales rep Jim Halpert on NBC’s sitcom The Office.

What You Don't Know
John is 6 feet 3, and his two older brothers are even taller—6 feet 6 and 6 feet 10.
Looks like the issue is about the main cast, so you can see the rest here, plus take a trivia quiz here (which was written by OfficeTally.com.

The porn part was hilarious. "Where do think my character's name came from?" Ha!

I can't get the extra ones to play, can you? They just keep loading...

ETA: Where did my manners go? Thanks for the article and link. Can't wait to read about the rest of the cast.

Yeah, I was able to watch them all in a row. What browser are you using? Sometimes the NBC.com clips won't load for me in Firefox, but will in IE. Go figure!

And you're welcome for the article

I'm using IE. I'll try again in a bit.

Here's a little tidbit about the premiere that's coming up. Glad to see some of the gang will be there supporting him.

Quote:
Also on the guest list are writers Duncan Brantley and Rick Reilly, producers Grant Heslov and Casey Silver, and Krasinski's co-stars from the TV sit-com "The Office" -- Brian Baumgartner, Jenna Fischer, Angela Kinsey, B.J. Novak and Rainn Wilson.

Thanks for bringing that over here Sara! Sometimes it's hard having the 'Leatherheads' news split from the regular news. Fingers crossed for a new John and Jenna photo at the premiere!
