| Okay, I loved this episode to pieces! There were some great lines/moments from almost everyone, it was awesome!!!I loved the first bit with Michael and Pam. It was so random, but just hilarious. I love “The Devil Wears Prada” and it’s so funny that Michael not only loves Meryl, but was imitating her. When he threw that jacket in her face I almost died. It came out of nowhere! I have to say that Michael really had me going this episode. I felt for him without thinking he went to far. The fact that he had to get a second job is just really sad, especially when he called Stanley! OMG! It was hilarious in the unfortunate kind of way. I also think it was interesting how he was willing to do all of this without telling Jan. Speaking of Jan, I have to be honest. At the beginning of the episode she was just annoying me. In fact, she bugged me until the end scene and now she’s back to being awesome. I loved her mini-speech she gave Michael. It’s probably my favorite Jan/Michael scene yet. I’m glad that she said something like, “You were there for me. That’s just who you are.” It was called for, especially seeing everything he was trying to do to provide for the two of them. It was just sweet. My Kryan- and Jam- loving heart was swelling with all the great stuff we got tonight. I mean Kelly and Darryl are together now?! OMG!! And she kissed him in front of Ryan! And Ryan’s face!!!!! OMG!! That’s what I’ve been waiting to see. It’s the biggest reaction I’ve seen from his this season (even beating Kelly being pregnant and Michael’s speech last episode!) or maybe I am seeing the moment bigger in my head. In any case, I was flipping out. To be honest, I was feeling tired tonight. When we saw everyone yawning, I was like, “Right?!” Then I saw Ryan and I got super excited again and just woke up completely. I’m on an Office high right now! I loved the goofiness of the whomever vs. whoever debate. And I loved when Toby (by the way,GO PAUL for writing and directing! You're awesome!) explained it so intelligently and Michael said something like, “Whomever’s name is Toby, nobody asked you.” I love the Michael wrath.Props to Oscar for his reaction to Michael having a second job: “He’s not even good at his first one.” ![]() Anyway, the best line of the night has to go to Jim with his, “In fact, I’m in love with Italian food.” SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We already knew it, but there was so much cuteness and satisfaction just hearing him say it. I’m so excited. I just had to gush about that! Oh, and I loved the kiss and Pam’s “Jim’s just very passionate about Italian food.” Love that and LOVE them! Gosh, they’re amazing.Okay, I just had to do that really quickly. Squee! Okay, I’m really done, lol. Dwight really had me going again, which is why I’m so glad he’s back! Thank you Jim for that heartfelt pep talk you gave our boy, because it’s not the same when Dwight’s the one you feel sorry for. I loved all things Dwight again, but I’m just relieved we’re getting back to core funny stuff. It’s nice that he’s that broken up about his breakup with Angela, but all his longing looks while she’s just cold is just awful! But, Jim and Pam are just wonderful! I love them going to the farm even if it first started out in a joking way. I laughed so hard seeing Mose running next to their car with that crazy look! He killed. Anyway, I love how sympathetic they were to Dwight. The best “Alliance” scene this season just has to be that one of them at the stairs. And I love how Dwight reached out to him, but it was kind of sad how he wasn’t there to see that. At least Dwight’s back to being Dwight, though! I MISS HIM!!! ![]() I do have to say that Angela looked cute with that cat and seeing Andy try to capture the cat was HILARIOUS! Also, his talk with Pam was creepy, but pretty darn funny. I also love his moonwalking past the accountants 10 times. I just wish we could have seen that. Oh, and it’s sad that she said he could ask her, but at least we know it’ll be interesting. On another note, Angela owned that scene where Michael was talking to Kevin about gambling. All she had to do was roll her eyes and that got me. Props to Angela! ![]() Poor Kevin and Scrantonicity. At least he has Scrantonicity 2 (subtle). I hope we get to see him in action soon even if it’s from some crappy tape. There are so many other great things, but this is getting way tooo long! Everyone rocked this episode. I loved it so much. __________________

| Moderator Manager ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Wow, Michael having a second job surprised the heck out of me!! It was funny seeing him interact with the boss and his co-workers...........calling Stanley at home. Loved him talking about Die Hard 1 and 4 with his co-workers............and how they said he should write movie reviews. I think a couple dealing with money issues was really realistic............especially a couple that has just moved in together. It was interesting to see Michael/Jan dealing with this. That's often what happens.......you just don't talk about it and I'm sure Michael being the guy didn't want to bring it up with Jan. Jan/Michael: I love these two. Sometimes I wonder about them, but then we get an ep like tonight. I loved Jan rushing up to work to go after him. I loved their talk and what she said to him................how he stood by her without a second thought when no one else in her life did and how he's a guy worth standing by. So sweet. Don't sell your implants though. ![]() Scrantonicity 2 ![]() The whomever vs whoever debate was awesome!! Loved that. ![]() Kelly/Darry and Kryan: Loved seeing this continued. Loved Kelly's lines........"Who says exactly what they're thinking?" What kind of game is that? Because we all know Ryan was the opposite of Darryl in that reguard. Loved the Ryan/Darryl bump up in the conference room too. But, most of all my Kryan heart was very happy that Ryan showed some actual emotion when he saw Kelly/Darryl kiss. ![]() Dwight: Awww, he's continuing to break my heart. Loved Jim going to talk to Dwight on the stairwell. That was great. Loved how concerned Pam was. Loved them writing the great review on Trip Advisor. Most of all I loved the return of old Dwight at the end. ![]() JAM: I loved the kiss after the Dwight/Jim conversation. Jim's just passionate about Italian food. I'm just passionate about Italian food. In fact I'm in love with Italian food. Awwwwwwwwwwww. Seeing them on the farm was great too.Lots more to say, but these are my initial thoughts. __________________ avie by linnea82 | |||

| okay so i have to agree with everything that you guys have said so far about the ep...i'm in a rush, cause i have to go to sleep...but it was great... After Jim gave his speech to Dwight, i knew he was going to do that...and i'm totally in love with John/Jim to the fullest of my ability right now...he's just awesome....and then Dwight put his arm out to reach for Jim and look at him, but he wasn't there that was great...there is so much more i want to say, but if i don't go to sleep i'll likely crash on my computer...and that's not good... __________________ -Kara- RT Mafia: Bodyguard avi: Eliz I'll light a path far from here I'll make your fear melt away And the world we know disappear. | Cross-posted to my LJ and the Office board I've been looking forward to this episode for at least a month. When I first saw episode stills and read the ep description at OfficeTally that Jim and Pam go to a bed and breakfast, I was so, so hopeful for what it would mean. And man - this was fabulous! This episode clearly felt like two separate episodes that were airing together. I think that actually helps get me ready for next week when we are back to half-hours again, though I am definitely going to miss having the whole hour dedicated them. Jim and Pam owned this episode. Michael and Dwight broke my heart as individuals. Even though there was participation from the rest of the cast, it really felt secondary or tertiary in a way that it doesn't usually. And yet? I didn't really care - is that bad? The cold open was cute, though it felt a little drawn out. "Meryl Streep was the bad guy - who knew?" (badly paraphrased) I did like that Michael apologized to Pam and Pam's last talking head before the credits. "Oh my god, he's going to try to kill me." I loved the initial interaction between Dwight, Jim and Pam about the B&B. I don't know why that busted me open - especially the bit about TripAdvisor - but it did. There was so much random stuff going on during the beet farm scenes that it perfectly balanced the fabulous schmoopy love of Jim and Pam. Cousin Mose trying to out run (???) Jim's car cracked me up - especially when it wasn't really explained what he was doing. I sorta feel like Mike Schur just came running out of nowhere when they were filming that scene and the director decided to go with it. I loved Pam selecting the "Irrigation Room" (though I'm sorta dying to see what the "Nighttime" room looks like - or maybe not!) and Jim requesting a bedtime story of Harry Potter. And of course, my favorite scene of the whole episode (and probably the whole 4th season so far), Dwight reading from HBP and Jim and Pam cuddled up on their bed, with Mose rocking back and forth at the end of it. I'm going to need an icon of the cuddle. I felt so upset for Michael in this episode. I loved that he was really part of the office at the telemarketing company because you know that's really what he loves. The people there (except for Vikram) really got him and wanted to be around him, which you know doesn't happen at Dunder Mifflin. He really is such a good salesman because he really listens and knows his audience and it's really sad that he's in a position where he can't showcase that skill. I loved that he accidentally called Stanley - that was too funny! But I felt so awful for him most of the way through the episode because Jan was being so ridiculous. I thought that they had really shown her as calmed down and more zen, but here she was just as boozy and crazy as she's ever been. I didn't blame Michael one bit for running for the hills - literally - after she started to tirade about HIS money mismanagement. I liked that they made up at the end, but it seemed like she flipped a switch or something and became calm Jan again. Maybe she's drugged up? I dunno. She did crack me up with the line that her family won't talk to her on advice of counsel. Makes me curious as the what on Earth she did after she got fired that we didn't see. And Dwight. Once again, Rainn was on fire and he just breaks my heart. Jim and Dwight had two AWESOME scenes and I love the friendship that they have forged but won't acknowledge. And Pam too. I really like how Pam has really come out on Dwight's side through this whole break up and really had his back. I also love how she was the first one to go "exploring" when they heard weird things at the Beet Farm. But my heart was breaking when Dwight was sobbing in his room and pretending like he wasn't when Jim came in (and started immediately after closing the door again). You just knew that Dwight had kept Angela's figurine on purpose. But the second best scene in the whole episode was when Jim went after Dwight in the stairwell. I loved that Jim either understood or just knew what Dwight meant in his unintelligible responses to Jim's rhetorical questions. Rainn is such an ugly crier and that made his breakdown even more heart-breaking. Jim really opened up about how much Pam hurt him and how that's still with him and to say all that to Dwight was remarkable. I was really expecting a man-hug and was pleasantly surprised to see Jim up and leave and Dwight just be a bit too late. It was amazing acting by both of them - especially John. You could just see on his face as he walked up the stairs and through the door that he was going to do something. I loved the kiss and Pam's shocked and feigned nonchalance following it. It's so good to hear that Jim is still in love with Pam. But I'm still waiting for Pam to really reciprocate - I want to see her storm and kiss him, say that she loves him, be the one who reaches for his hand. Jim's done so much of the heavy lifting in the relationship (that we've seen) and I'm really to see Pam "all in" as well. Lots of little things that I loved and probably forgot to mention. I'm sure I'll be analyzing, discussing and posting on the various threads throughout the week. | |||

| I loved in the Whom vs. Who discussion when Kelly piped up with, "Ryan use me as an object." ![]() __________________ nothing going going wild in you, you know i don't do sadness. not even a little bit Icon Credit - shadybrightside | |||

| Master Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The whomever vs. whoever debate: I think that is one of my favorite ensemble scenes. It flowed so well, and everyone was piping in. And then Michael with his comment to Toby, "So whomever's name is Toby, why don't you take a letter opener and stick it into your skull." Kelly/Ryan/Darryl: I LOVED IT! I loved seeing Ryan actually react to seeing Kelly kiss Darryl. I'm interested in seeing where this will go. Michael/Jan: This was the most human I think we've seen Michael in awhile, especially after his meltdowns in the past two episodes. I felt horrible for him. I loved their ending scene on the train, I loved seeing Jan supportive and realizing that deep down all Michael wants is someone to be with him. That's what he needs. I also thought it was interesting that at his second job everyone actually likes him. Dwight: I love love love Dwight. His response to Jim's "You okay?"... "I am better than you have ever been, or ever will be." His heartbreak... him playing the recorder out by the dumpster. Jim consoling him in the stairwell. Reading Harry Potter to Jim and Pam. Andy: His pursuing Angela... and the return of Garbage. Jim/Pam: Best episode. All of the scenes at the B&B. Mose running alongside the car. Requesting a bedtime story. Watching Mose make the table. Scooping manure. Jim reflecting on it being their first night away together. Pam figuring out the noise. Jim talking to Dwight at the B&B. The stairwell. The kiss. Italian. I feel like it was the perfect Jim and Pam episode. We actually got to see them be a couple. We'd heard them talk about it, but seeing them outside the office... it was perfect. __________________ Mel

| I think that's what really hit Dwight the most - she wouldn't accept Garbage from Dwight, but the exact same cat from Andy got him permission to ask her to dinner. | |||
