And I have to say that I was surprised that only Micheal showed real interest. I get that they wrote it that way for the contrast and comedy but I truly think that other co-workers would have more positive reactions.

I was surprised Michael showed interest after all the "you guys are still dating?" comments last year.

Yeah, they were. I would have thought there'd be some weird/funny comments but at least one warm smile or 'congratulations' thrown in there.
Oh well, the fans' enthusiasm makes up for all that I guess.

Well, I think in 'Night Out' they showed that the rest of the office staff was kinda "over" Jim and Pam being together, so their reaction wasn't so surprising to me. I expected a nice gesture from Phyllis because she seems to love love as much as anyone, but that didn't happen (at least I don't remember it).

I thought it was pretty sneaky of Pam to get Jim to announce it when she wasn't there so she could get the congratulations, but not have to deal with the Michael-inappropriate-touching. Reminded me of how she got out of the inappropriate Michael hug when they were "outted" in DMI last season.

Also remember most of the co-workers don't really know what Jim/Pam went through to get together. They didn't get to witness the Casino Night kiss, and then turn down like we did. Plus I'm sure they don't have the interest like we do. Jim/Pam are just co-workers to them. The only ones who I'd expect to show any kind of genuine excitement are Phyllis, Kelly (I was expecting a "Can I be a bridesmaid?" comment from Kelly.

), and Micheal, because well he's Michael.

but one smile or a nice word would have made more sense, especially as you say from people like Phyllis and Kelly. Guess that's why those two weren't in the scene.

And I just adore Michael's love of Jim and Pam.

I totally agree with you. A little acknowledgment like a congrats or a smile would have been nice.

Well, just watched the episode and even with some awkward moments tonight, I thought showing the difficulties of a long-distance relationship very realistic. Jim and Pam are experiencing this time apart and it can't always be perfect. Loved the synchronized voicemails and how they know each other so well.
