Yeah...it wasn't all that great of Jim. He tried to have Pam take some of the credit for their bad situations. Kinda bad boyfriend material.

And yeah... the lie wasn't a big one, but I didn't like it even so.

When Michael made them all leave the office to talk to Stanley, and Jim grabbed Pam's hand to lead her out...

It was so subtle, but so adorable!

I agree, even though the lie was just a small one, I didn't like it. If you are in a relationship you should be honest with each other! And seriously these fake proposals are seriously making me anxious!
