So happy to have our show back!

I've watched the episode a couple of times now.

This episode was so incredibly awkward but hilarious. Cringeworthy at times but not in a bad way. So many funny moments.

I had to laugh when I saw the Hunter CD and Jan dancing to it........and then Andy singing that one note ...........and then at the end Jim having stolen it and them singing along.

Dwight crashing the party with a "date" was hilarious. Purely carnal!!! Jim wanting her email so he could ask her questions.

Jan/Michael: I'll save most of my comments for their thread............they were cracking me up. There were definitely a few moments where I was Team Michael, but I feel for Jan too. I really thought this episode might make me lose hope for these two so I was happy that wasn't the case. But, I do think there is time apart ahead.

Melora was fabulous!

The JAM scene in the car at the end was sweet.

When I saw Angela/Andy in the car at the end I was almost thinking they were cute. And then Andy took a lick of her icecream and she smashed it on his car. Awww, she's so not into him like he's into her. The flower was sweet too but she wasn't too receptive. Me thinks she's still far from over Dwight.

Dwight/Michael: Loved Dwight taking him home. You're sleeping with me. BFF's.

The Pam/Michael and Pam/Jan stuff was great. I wonder what the heck Michael has told her. This isn't the first time we've seen Jan give Pam that look. And Angela going along with it cracked me up.

Everyone's expressions throughout the whole dinner party cracked me up. Just perfect.

I missed the other Office people but I knew we probably wouldn't see them. At least we got to see their faces in the cold open. Devious Michael with his scheme to get Jim/Pam to dinner. Brilliant!

Much more to say later.

I couldn't believe he was going to leave her. It bugged me a little even if the scene was funny.

I loved Jan trying to dance with Jim.

The car scene was definitely sweet.

All in all I thought this episode was pretty good. I was dying when Michael brought in the beer sign and then when Jan broke his TV. I found that hilarious for some odd reason. The car scene at the end was seriously just made of win. SO ADORABLE!

See, I just LOVED that! I loved that they are so comfortable that Jim wouldn't mind leaving Pam to fend for herself, even if he didn't want to. He knows that she can deal with Michael on her own (just like he can). Plus, it also reminds us that while he's dreamy, Jim's still a guy and self-preservation is still #1 on the list. Besides, Pam didn't look mad, just annoyed that she'd have to stay. I think that says a lot about how strong their relationship is. Try that same scene with Roy and you have a WHOLE different outcome.

I love how she was like you can't buy another party! meaning "you leave me here and you are soooo dead!"

and i fell in love with Jim a little bit more because he was lip sychinging to Hunter's song in the car!

True. And I do see what you mean.......you made some good points. I still didn't love it though.

Yeah, I can understand that. I think I also rationalized that Jim would call Pam pretending to be someone else about 20 minutes later and get her out of the party too. Cause since they came together, she'd have no way to get home anyway. Maybe I was just reading too much into the scene. I did love that they had a whole fight just by staring at each other. Love their nonverbal communication!

Nah, I think I was in the minority. Or maybe everything around it made up for it.

As much as I enjoyed the episode I really don't think it will go down on my list of favorites like I thought it might.

I agree. I definitely don't see Angela being over Dwight AT ALL.

Interesting tidbit - the script enclosed with the Target DVD set of 'Dinner Party' originally had Jan running the dog over with her car instead of just spray-painting a dirty word on it. I guess they must have felt that dog murder was too dark even for Jan.
