I wasn't really too fond of this weeks episode to be honest. I did enjoy some parts of it, however.

I liked how Pam got sick of the trash talk and so she played Kelly herself, and it turns out they both suck. And Kelly's insults about Jim. Hey, hey, you, you, I don't like your boyfriend. He really sucks at ping pong

I feel sad!! My notes pretty much suck as I wrote down non-helpful things like I love Kelly and Dwight is awesome.

Back to the episode:
I loved it!! I thought it was great. There were parts that had me laughing hard and then there were sad moments.

I thought the cold open was funny: Ryan forcing Michael to take the "call" and his, "Hey buddy!" I thought the post-its were pretty cute, too.

I have to say I was a little scared with the whole Kelly smack talking Pam, because as much as I love Kelly I thought it was going to bother me. I loved it so much. It was nice seeing her so much in the episode and she was hilarious. I also love her hair like that. Anyway, the other part of the smack that was a little much was when she made Pam widen the door for her in the bathroom. Then she replied something like "Yeah, that's what I thought," and I went back to laughing. She rocks! I also loved her singing "Boyfriend" at the end and DANCING! That girl is too awesome. Oh, and I loved the Pam/Kelly match.

I loved how competitive Pam got and how Jim jumped to defend her honor. It was cute and very them. I love how they got Kevin, Meredith, and DWIGHT to play. Cue back to my Dwight is awesome! He's just amazing. I love how he decided to help Jim for a client and then actually thought Darryl was supposed to be Jim's client. P.S. He's really good!

Too bad we didn't get more from more of the cast. I think we could of had a montage of the different cast members playing. I know I would have cracked up no matter what if I just saw Stanley playing. And Creed and ANDY!

My biggest laugh was Michael's diary entry about Ryan being just as hot as Jan, but in a different way. I also loved Toby! His laughing made me crack up more.

Back to Toby: I totally loved him! I felt bad for when Michael didn't have anywhere to sit at lunch and was basically forced to sit with Toby, but he got me so mad when he pushed over Toby's tray. That was just rude. I know he had a lot on his mind, but Toby was trying to reach out to him. Gosh, I wanted Toby to go on about his parents (which was a good analogy by the way!).

Michael was amazing! I'm still trying to figure out how I feel about Jan, but man do I love Michael. He was torn, but I think he did the right thing. Wow, did he prove how much he loves DM. If there was ever a time, this was it. I got really sad at the David/Michael talk. When Michael told him he's a good guy too my heart kind of just broke. Michael may not be the best regional manager, but he's probably the most loyal person in the company. Gosh, do I love him.

I guess Jan/Michael were pretty okay. I'm glad they survived this, I guess, but that was just wrong of Jan to take his diary like that. Michael goes above and beyond for the people and things he cares about, I think he would have let her take the diary if she had just asked. What I did like: I love how they said I you to each other even during the craziness. And I like that even after his siding with the company they still are communicating. I felt really sad at his fast food comment, though. I mean, I eat that stuff a lot, but Steve just had me going the whole episode. He was AMAZING.

"That's what she said."

I'm probably going to forget all the jokes and things I want to mention because I'm trying to do too many things at once. But luckily for us, there's plenty of time to discuss this episode

The cold open was so funny! I loved that Pam draws funny little things on Post-Its to give to Michael during meetings. That was such a little little character thing - I loved it! I think it's great that even though it's annoying, she goes with it anyway.

Oh, Michael just broke my heart tonight. He made me laugh, most definitely, but he was just so vulnerable and human tonight. He really loves Jan and she betrayed him at every turn to get what she wants. I didn't expect any less, but you could tell that it really did break Michael's heart. He's been supporting her financially, emotionally, etc and she just sold him out. I was really disappointed in Jan. Not surprised, but disappointed - especially after her big speech in 'Money.' I can see now why Greg Daniels mentioned a cliffhanger for this episode. Because it's not really a cliffhanger, but there is an air of uncertainty about Jan and Michael's relationship now.

Great moment between Michael and David Wallace. I think David Wallace is such a good guy and you could just tell that he felt so bad about being put on the spot like that. I wish we had more David Wallace (and less Douchy!Ryan). I mean, I love BJ, but I can't stand Ryan when he's in the room.

Toby cracked me up! I think he made me laugh the most. He was clearly enjoying Michael being humiliated in the deposition, but then he really tried to be nice to Michael in the cafeteria. BTW, how heartbreaking/hilarious was that lunchroom scene? High school flashback! I thought it was so cool of Michael to sit with Toby and cool of Toby to let him. But Michael just couldn't be nice to him for more than a few minutes. You could just see it on his face. The subtle pushing of the tray just made me laugh SO hard!

I'm so happy we got to see the Darryl/Jim ping pong match. We got Sweaty!Jim (though not as much as I would like!) and it was awesome. I was a little annoyed that Pam wasn't sticking up for Jim, but she IS really competitive, so I could see it. Besides I could see how Kelly's 'smack talk' would annoyed the hell out of anyone! The bathroom thing cracked me up!

I LOVED that Pam put together a ping pong table in the conference room and started recruiting people to play Jim so he could improve his skillz. It reminded me of the Office Olympics a bit, though again, I wish we could have seen more of everyone. No Andy? In a competitive situation? That's a crime! We were also missing Angela, Stanley, Phyllis, Oscar and Creed Great stuff with Dwight, though! Oh and I loved the Dwight/Mose tag - Mike Schur is so full of win!!

It cracked me up when Pam decided to take matters into her own hands and play Kelly - and they both suck! Why do I feel like after that, Pam was going to drag Jim upstairs to play until she improved HER skillz? Ha!

This was a good episode. I think it was a step up from some of the previous episodes and I'm glad we got this to end on. I hate that the show is dark now and this strike hiatus is already the pits. But I really enjoyed this episode.

Awesome episode and yet somewhat of a sad ending (and yes slight cliffhanger) so I have mixed feelings.............especially knowing this is the last episode although I should't really factor that in.

Sadly there were some characters we didn't see tonight which is a bit sad..........Stanley, Creed, Andy, etc. But, we did see alot of the cast which was cool.

I'm starting out with Michael because once again I have to say how much I love him and what a class act this guy is underneath all the buffoonry sometimes. He truly is a nice guy and he's extremey loyal which are admirable qualities. He brought me to tears tonight. I felt so bad for him with some of the stuff he heard from the company but mostly because of Jan. Awwwwww. He seriously killed that scene. Steve Carell you own!!!

Michael/Jan: A bit of a cliffhanger on our hands. Are these two kaput now or will they work it out? Should it be worked out? I've been a long time fan of these two and I like Jan, but tonight was painful.

Loved the cold open with Pam and the post-its and making up calls for Michael. Too funny...........especially when it won points with Jan.

Ping pong table in the warehouse...........fun.

Kelly talking smack not trash.

Pam asking Jim to practice to defend her honor and beat Darryl and stop the trash talk...........haha..........loved it.

Jim getting Dwight to play ping pong was awesome.

Michael's diary XOXO

Michael sitting with Toby in the cafeteria. Wow! Knew it was too good to be true. Poor Toby...........trying to be nice. Not cool Michael.

Loved the topless photo being brought up again. Jan did have a point about calling it even. I don't know which was worse.

"Ryan just as hot as Jan but in a different way." And Toby laughing when this was brought up from the diary.

Dwight finding out Darryl was the "client"

David Wallace is sweet you gotta admit. Seriously! We need a thread for him.

Kelly singing Aril. Awesome!

Pam/Kelly: Them sucking at ping pong was hilarious. Loved Pam calling Kelly out. And Darryl/Jim not even being able to watch and going upstairs to play.

"You expect to get screwed by your company, you never expect to get screwed by your girlfriend."

Mose/Dwight playing ping pong at the end.

Jenn - I'm so glad we got that deleted scene. Wish it had been in the ep though.

I loved Pam calling Kelly out to a challenge. And the fact that they both sucked and Jim and Darryl couldn't even watch was hilarious.

Thank goodness for the deleted scene.

Pure awesomeness. And Toby cracking up just added to it.

David and Michael both owned. Seriously floved both of them last night!!

I agree................Steve was amazing!!

I think taking the diary was wrong. I really don't think Jan intended to use it unless she absolutely had to though. Not saying that makes it better, but just saying.
She wasn't out for herself only in this lawsuit. She was doing this for Michael too and to help him, so I think we have to remember that.

I loved it too. So nice to get little tidbits like that about their characters.

I think saying she betrayed him at every turn is a bit harsh but I can see how some probably feel that way. I think the biggest motivation in doing this actually was Michael and I don't think she wanted to hurt him at all. I've watched the episode several times now and despite how Jan did or didn't feel in the past I saw a person that really does love Michael now. It was sad to see Michael have to see/hear the things he did in the deposition and yeah........it's easy to say Jan shouldn't have let it come to all of that knowing that those things would hurt Michael.........but I think she was looking at the bigger picture and how much the money could help both of them. I think the lawsuit was a bad idea period, but..........yeah. And while we know Michael's financial situation has never been great, I always kind of assumed Jan's finances were probably in better shape. She just struck me as a business woman in that sense. Does she not have any savings? Stocks and bonds? She had to have a 401k or pension or both. She made alot more money than Michael. I just find it weird that she apparently has no money either.

I loved those two so much last night!! More David please.

Again, drive by posting, but just wanted to comment on this.

The reason I said what I did about Jan was for the simple reason that she let all those things happen to Michael without warning in front of people he still has to work with. No, I'm sure that she and her lawyer didn't want it to come to that, but the fact that they had ALL of that stuff waiting meant it was planned beforehand. If Jan had spent 1/10th of the time prepping Michael for the diary, performance reviews, etc that she did feeding him speeches about unfair working environments, I'd feel bad for how things went down and not blame her. If she had asked to use the diary or at least warned him that it might come up, Michael would have been okay with it. He can't refuse her anything. But it was the fact that she blindsided him with that information in front of everyone that really made me lose respect for Jan and what she was doing and why.

I agree she could have/should have warned him about that stuff possibly coming up. But, she didn't want to hurt him by telling him if she didn't have to.........of course in the end it ended up hurting him more as usually happens in those type of situations. The diary on the other hand is a whole different thing........the fact that she would even consider using it........especially w/o telling him is pretty awful. I mean I can't can't even imagine that although I know these kind of things come up quite a bit in real life cases. Makes you think twice about keeping a diary/journal. I do agree that Jan should have talked to Michael about the diary. I do believe if Michael would have been totally against it Jan would have dropped it. But, I guess I'm not as cynical about Jan. Communication has consistently has been an issue with them but we've seen that when Michael does assert himself with Jan she gives him what he wants............like in this episode with opening the top in the car or in Money where he's finally honest about his money situation. These two (I just said this on another thread) are alike in alot of ways but are also very different. Jan is definitely more agressive/assertive in the relationship. Jan is sort of overpowering and it's hard for Michael to speak his true thoughts/feelings with her alot of the time. I don't think we can put this all on Jan.............Michael is just as much at fault for letting her overpower the relationship. He has to step it up too and not let her dictate everything. It's in her personality to naturally do that just as it's Michael's personality to let her..............they both have to work at it for the realtionship to succeed.

Quote:

Michael has done the same with Jan on several occasions with the people she had to work with (before she was fired)...........some intentional some not. Not that I think she was right, but she had a point......call it even..........they've both done it.
