Thanks everyone! It feels good to have them done and out of the house! And though I didn't get as large a refund as I got last year, I don't have to pay, so yay!

It's supposed to warm up here too and I'm really excited! It's starting to feel like home

You have to pay taxes whenever you start working or otherwise earn money. When they send you the tax forms (W-2 or 1099s etc), then you know if you have to file

Yuck is right. But, I usually get a refund which is quite nice.

Yeah it was absolutely fabulous yesterday, and then it went back to being cold again. We've got a Winter Storm Warning here starting later on tonight. I'm seriously so sick of the snow, but thats a Michigan winter for you.

Thanks for the answers girls. I'm bad with finance stuff. I heard doing your taxes s no harder than filling out paperwork for financial aid (which I do). If that's true, it'll be a pretty big pain in the butt when I have to do it!

Just wish the weather was more consistent. Looks like New York weather is as fickle and changing as Michigan weather, Jory Lynn.

It's really not that complicated to me. I'm no math whiz or good at figuring out Federal language, but I use TurboTax and it seems to go pretty fast for me. Even with filing in two states since I moved last year and having to separate my income earned, I finished filing all three returns in about four hours.

Jory - I always hate it when I don't have my car either. Just feels like part of your independence is gone.

Marie Yeah it's wacky. One day we're wearing shorts and the next we're pulling out the jackets. And now today it was back to being hot again.

Hestia - Taxes can get complicated but for the most part it's not too bad. I've always done my own with no problem.
