Seems like the show might be falling into a pattern. In last year's season premiere, we (the audience & camera crew) found out Pam and Jim were dating, but the office staff didn't know. This year, we (the audience & camera crew) found out about Pam and Jim's engagement, but the office staff didn't know. In the second episode last season, the office found out about Pam & Jim's relationship with Michael making a HUGE deal about it and acting inappropriately towards Jim. In the second episode of this season, it appears the office staff finds out about Pam & Jim's engagement and Michael makes a HUGE deal about it and acts inappropriately towards Jim. Coincidence? | |||

| So, I was kinda bored during this episode. I laughed a fair amount during the episode, but I wasn't anxious to watch it again. It was weird that Pam wasn't really in the episode. While I never wanted to have "Pam at art school" become the new "Jim in Stamford," I didn't like that she was just in the Cold Open. JK, Jenna and the writers have all been talking about how the "long distance" thing is going to play havoc in their relationship, but so far, we seen 9 weeks of Pam being gone and that doesn't really seem to be the case. So on one hand, I'm glad that they are keeping things confined to the office this season instead of constantly not working, but I don't like Pam being out of the office still. I miss Jenna! The ethics storyline was kind of a snoozer, but it was nice to see that while Holly is kind of a whack job, she does know HR and will stand UP to Michael about things. It was interesting to see the shift between Michael and Holly when she told him that it was work and not family. Hard to believe that Holly has spent the entire summer with Michael and this is the first time it's coming up, but I'll let it pass. I did find it hysterical that even though Holly was right, Corporate just wanted the paperwork to say she had read to the branch from the binder. That was actually a really nice touch and made the episode feel more "real" than the show has in a while. I thought it was completely weird that Jim was timing Dwight's "non-work" behavior instead of just pointing out the whole "Second-Life" thing from last year that he was clearly doing on company time. Also, I didn't understand why Dwight didn't just bust on Jim for his constant not working - including talking to Pam on the company telephone just that morning. I know that Jim likes to mess with Dwight, but that just seemed lame. Very creepy post-sex-with-Angela smile at the end though. I could have done without knowing how long it takes Dwight to have sex as well. Overall, a pretty blah episode for me. I am going to need an icon of Michael tackling Jim after the engagement announcement though. That was complete WIN! | |||

For a moment I thought Michael would start hating Holly like he hates Toby and that would explain all the hate, but guess not. Michael tackling Jim saved the episode for me ![]() __________________

| I must be a loner, but I LOVED this episode. It felt more like the old Office - without rapid plot developments and lots and lots of laughs, plus Jim/Dwightness aplenty. Favourite line: 'You are a thief of...joy.' ![]() And Stanley with those ribs....Stanley, you are going to put those pounds you lost straight back on! ![]() __________________ At the end of the day I wanted you there. icon by Cris | |||
