Hee Steph! I'm just happy I'm not the only one who likes to read the book before seeing a movie

I don't know anyone who regularly prefers a movie to its respective book.

Oh, I don't usually get a chance to read the book before the movie (last time around was with The Da Vinci Code craze), but John Krasinski is adapting it for goodness sakes. That's enough motivation.

Exactly! It seems silly to say anywhere but here, but since it's one of his favorite books and it inspires him, that's really why I want to read it. I feel like it's some insight into John the person (not the celeb) that we wouldn't usually be offered.

Absolutely and well said!

I think the fact that John loves this book so much must mean that it's something really special.

I can't wait until we've all read it and are able to really discuss/analyze it.

I figured! You're all for discussion!

During the week I was at my library website and they had the book! I ordered it and will probably begin in December.

Hee! Guilty as charged.

It's next on my list, so I'll probably be getting to it about Thanksgiving or so.

:: The Playlist ::: Speculation on "Brief Interviews With Hideous Men"
Interesting blog post about the potential soundtrack for this film. What do you think? Do you think John will put it together himself? What do you think it might feature?

I'm not sure he will with everything going on, but I would love that.

It's hard for me to speculate too much w/o having read the book or seen the movie, but I always find music to be an integral part of a movie, so I definitely look forward to seeing who makes the cut. I love soundtracks and scores.

I would really love to see him do the soundtrack too. I know that when I'm writing, I always sorta have a soundtrack going in my head and I'd like to think that he would too.

I'm such a freak for movie soundtracks. I've always thought that the music supervisors in movies have the best job EVER!

So true!

Hey, maybe we should post something about this on the Book board (and John's thread on The Office board, of course) to see if anyone else is interested. It might help with posts in Dec.
