| Thanks for starting the new episode Katie! I loved Dummy, I thought the quality from Pie-lette was kept up, my favorite is the ending scene between Ned and Chuck, their smiles ![]() ![]() Other great moments: ![]() ![]() Classic Olive scene And her singing! ![]() ![]() The whole Dandelion case was funny, lots of great interactions between Ned/Chuck/Emerson Chuck: I gave the security guard a hug goodbye, my upper body distracted him, while these things I call "hands" took this off his belt Narrator: At that moment, the Piemaker felt a mixture of happiness and trepidation Ned: Why is it always a mixture? ![]() ![]() Ned: I hate secrets, too Chuck: What? You love secrets. You want to marry secrets and have little half-secret, half-human babies ![]() ![]() Loved -Ned and Chuck dandelion bop ![]() -Ned, Chuck and Emerson's nonchalant expressions when the dandelion car infront of them is blown up to pieces -Digby licking Olive's face -Ned and Chuck waking up to each other, Chuck filled with wonder of being alive And finally some random caps... ![]() Emerson: I'm not a God, but if I was, I'd be an angry God Emerson: If I wanted to mingle with a bunch of geeks wearing leotards, I would have stayed in art school ![]() Chuck: Shotgun! Ned: Chuck! Chuck: I hate the back Ned: Dead. Again. Forever. ![]() ![]() __________________ the conflicted. Last edited by lala000 : 03-16-2009 at 06:43 PM. | |||

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Once again, still no time for rewatching *glares at school* So here's my previous Dummy rewatch report ![]() - Awwww poor abandoned little Ned! Field was so good in that moment where he's standing in the field, being left by his father. There's this emotion in his eyes, and his face... breaks my heart! ![]() And he spoke! One little word, and that's all we hear for nine episodes from him ![]() Love the kitchen dodging. Their situation kind of sucks, but they're making it work ![]() Cheese box ![]() Of course how can we forget Olive and her mirror... miracle she didn't fall - either that or she's done it before... I think it's the second one ![]() ![]() We discover Emerson knits! That was just awesome ![]() Emerson, and then Chuck, finger wagging at the other in the car, that just gives me the giggles every time. Ned rushing to finish his question to Bernard before the time was up, I'm so giddy every time that he manages to get it done for some reason ![]() Emerson's bubble bath + money fantasy... there's something I'd like to see He'd probably be smoking a cigar too or something ![]() Smiling Ned!! Can we take a collective moment to gush at the gorgeous of smiling Ned?? *guuushes* ![]() Love that they used Brit!Anna's voice for the Dandy Lion commercial. Also, as a language lover, was thrilled at the sight of multi language!Chuck ![]() Jeanine's scoot around the platform is just brilliant. To quote from TWOP: Quote:
![]() Oh... and of course... let's take a moment to observe the brilliance that is Miss Kristin Chenoweth as Olive Snook in our first ever Pushing Daisies musical moment... Every part of that shows the genius of the great Cheno *bows down* Emerson's manner of acquiring the key card vs. Chuck's manner... ![]() Emerson went to art school!! ![]() Oh and his scream when they wake the girl and she screams... that is just perfect ![]() ![]() Can I just say, I hope that actress who played Jeanine was heftily paid... Not only did she have to be wrapped up in all those bandages, but she had to eat so much!! The showdown for the Pie: Emerson vs Jeanine... he looked terrified, and she looked like she was gonna eat HIM if she didn't get to eat the pie ![]() Lily's book collection ![]() Emerson's look after they watch Jeanine crash, the sort of gaze up and to the side... I giggled ![]() Mark Chase's speech of evilness... is just brilliant... and brilliantly acted. Quote:
![]() Olive's not giving up! I'm a Ned/Chuck shipper, but still I have hopes for her ![]() And lastly... the car partition... Why can't I find a guy like Ned? *le sigh* ![]() No aunts ![]()

| Absolute Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Another favorite of mine, and another flawless episode. You have pretty much mentioned all the awesome scenes ![]() ![]() They had met when the scientist had come to watch the sales training on a long lunch. The attraction was instantaneous and they would both confess to replaying this first encounter as they fell asleep in their beds that night. He would remember her hair as being slightly redder, her sweater slightly tighter, but the smile he would get just right. She would remember his look as shy but flirtatious, his tie as red but very thin, and that his sandwich was an Angus beef patty with butter head lettuce, Roma tomatoes on a sesame seed whole wheat bun, and a glass of 2% milk. As they talked these are the things she came to know first: the scientist was kind. The scientist was lonely. The scientist came alive when he told her about his hobbies about catching butterflies. When he admitted he always set them free, she felt dizzy and giggled for no reason. Quote:
*gushes* I love this scene. A happy family. ![]() I can't believe nobody has mentioned Chuck's dress yet ![]() ![]() Did I say can? Because I swallow my consonants sometimes. N't, n't. Can't come in. ![]() - N: We're from that government safety place? E: Is that a question? N: Government safety place. ![]() - N: I’d really like to get out of this car soon... ![]() I always found it strange that they never actually give Jeanine the message that Bernard loved her .And the first prophylactic kiss: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And though he couldn’t hear her, Ned suddenly wanted to tell her everything: pet peeves and favorite foods, his fears, his dreams and all the pure joy she had brought into his life. ![]() During S2 I missed how in S1 the episodes would end in a romantic, positive and joyful way and that would be it . Cliffhangers suck ![]() This scene has already been mentioned but I love it ![]() ![]() C: What is that? N: That's for... um... steering emergencies. He lied. C: Perfect. Just what I thought. She lied, too. ![]() __________________ ~Andrea Which birthday do I celebrate? I've got two of them now.

The Fun in Funeral ![]() At that very moment, Chuck saw The Piemaker, perhaps not as he really was, but as he would always appear to her: her Prince Charming. __________________ ~Andrea Which birthday do I celebrate? | Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Once again, copying over my old recap... I loved the whole deal with the fireflies, and Ned's experiments. There was something very magical about it, of course. It sort of made me think of Hogwarts ![]() ![]() And then.... *le swoony sigh* Can we all gush collectively? And then the wonder of Raul Esparza as Alfredo!! The scene where we first meet him though, I noticed something upon watching the episode, no doubt helped from having seen a picture of him made up as such, but if you look in the background, first we see Paul Reubens as Alfredo... ![]() And then the next shot, there's Raul... ![]() Love Emerson's entrance, and his "I feel like ice cream" ![]() This exchange is golden: Olive: Musing on the idea of setting someone on fire doesn’t mean you really want to set them on fire: it’s just the thought of it makes you really happy. But only for a second, then you feel bad, but then that second would feel like a lot of fun. Emerson: You thinkin’ of settin’ someone on fire? Olive: No, I was just speaking in the figurative, but figuratively speaking, someone should set you on fire for throwing my heart under a bus when you told me Ned didn’t want me. Emerson: That was the Truth Bus. Olive: That wasn’t the Truth Bus: that was the Bitchy Crosstown Express. Emerson: By "bitchy," you mean "frank" and "honest." Olive: If I want Frank and Honest – well, I don’t want Frank and Honest. I never want Frank and Honest, so let’s just take it off the docket. While we’re on the subject of Frank and Honest, I don’t like that girl. Not one bit. The coroner... love that man... first with the bit about moisturizer, and then the hint of hurt when he sees that Emerson didn't come just to see him ![]() A little nitpick - They say Lawrence Schatz was "44 years, 17 months..." Wouldn't that just make him 45 years, 5 months...? ![]() Looove this, mostly because of the last line... Chuck: You won’t even know I’m here. Emerson: ‘Cause you leaving? Chuck: No. Ned: C’mon, it makes her happy. Ned's look after telling Chuck he 'killed' Lawrence... poor puppy! ![]() Accidental, involuntary manslaughter... ![]() Chuck's red dress... awesome ![]() ![]() The mermaid tail bags... that is just such a touch I love! ![]() The whole segment after Chuck shuts the coffin and they try to pry it open... Emerson, omg... From "oh hell no!" to his run, kissing his crossed fingers... ![]() The image of Chuck sitting there in the red dress... so pretty... ![]() Love Olive going to the door to the aunts', scared, then her dash, holding herself... SOS! OS! OS! ![]() ![]() Then the whole scene with Olive and the aunts... ![]() Pooooh! That is awesome And of course, "Kick Pooh Kick" ![]() ![]() Ned, wanting to be a Jedi And then his standing there below, all prince charming for Chuck *gushes*Lastly, the scene with the wrapping of the heirlooms for return... there's something so sweet about it, them sitting there in their PJs... like Christmas! ![]() And... I’m going to see if I’ve got some plastic wrap. ![]()

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Oh my, time for a new one already! *goes once more to the old rewatch* -- Digby went on an adventure to find his boy... *gushes* And he was helpful along the way ![]() Loved how happy Little Ned was when Digby returned... ![]() Back in the present, the reveal of the honey roof... so magical, like a fairytale! Chuck was so happy, and Ned was so happy that Chuck was so happy ![]() Love the sort of victorious look Olive has when she arrives at the Pie Hole with "The Power" of knowing something (however wrong) about Chuck... ![]() The way Ned is in the scene outside the Pie Hole, with the pigeon and events surrounding it... Lee just rocked that scene The way he tried to shoo away the squirrel ![]() ![]() And then, the quote I used for my sig this week... "It's raining dead birds!" The delivery ![]() Look at Chuck with another part of her knowledge... first languages, now law ![]() "DNA... ish" Awesome... totally. Loved Vivian's laugh, how it totally shocked Lily... and Vivian herself. Ned and Emerson's reaction to the real Conrad in the trunk... and in fact, trunk!Conrad himself as a whole was just fantastic, one of two non-main characters I really liked in the episode (the other one comes up later on )The Ned/Chuck hand holding... even though it was only her imagining it, it was still really sweet... ![]() Ned's chase of Lefty, with the slide under the table, and then getting smacked in the face with the fake arm... that just was thrilling followed by freakin' awesome ![]() The little touch of, when Chuck hands Emerson a shovel, he just goes 'thank you' and leans on it... ![]() The pigeon surgery, complete with the patch light... hee! Waking the narcoleptic mill info lady... love when Emerson just takes control with Ned's power, either to wake or put back to sleep someone (that sentence doesn't seem right )Very curious to know if the whole incident where Vivian read something she shouldn't have will be brought up again at some point... Okay, the second character I loved... ![]() And before you ask, it has only a normal amount of involvement with the fact that she's played by my dear ol' Jayma Mays ![]() Oh and... for this moment I relay you to youtube for some geniusness... Ladies and... do we have gents... Kristin Chenoweth and Ellen Greene! Just brilliant... Emerson: The answer to your query is 'yes'. Oh how I love a good Emerson annoyed deadpan ![]() "I was born into the life of windmillery" is just perfect ![]() Olive and Chuck's talk at the door, Olive's disregard of the guys, knowing Chuck would understand exactly what was going on, and then Chuck's emotion at realizing her aunts were so close yet she couldn't get any closer... that is the start of their friendship right there if you ask me ![]() Something I didn't notice until this viewing and which just made me giggle - Emerson pacing away from N&C when Chuck's going on about making a picture... poor boy's had enough ![]() ![]() Lily's glimpse of Chuck... that was very exciting to me somehow, like 'omg! she saw her!' but then poof... windmill made her disappear... and then the disappointment. Knowing what we know now... it's even sadder... "Hand up!" ![]() And to close the ball... the Beekeeper Waltz ![]() | |||

| Absolute Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | A bit late, but here I am. I can't explain how much I adore this episode. It's sweet, it's smart, it's everything tv should be like. And I could quote and picspam every second of it... it I had the time ![]() In case someone doesn't have the soundtrack yet, you can listen to the awesome Pigeon Suite at Jim Dooley's site. It's no wonder he won the Emmy for this, the music is beautiful. Some of my favorite moments: ![]() Uncertain as to his exact destination, he ventured into the great unknown, guided only by the compass of his heart. Despite numerous distractions, Digby was determined to find young Ned, the boy who had given him a second chance at life. And who was his best friend. Upon doing so, Digby proved that love can overcome any obstacle. ![]() O: I recently made the acquaintance of a pair of bird lovers, I’ll consult them. Olive was referring to Aunts Lily and Vivian. C: Really? I used to know a pair of bird lovers! Chuck also referred to Aunts Lily and Vivian. O: Used to? Did they die? C: A death was involved. O: How unfortunate. ![]() Chuck’s first thought was to quickly pull her hand away, her second thought was how nice it felt to have someone hold her hand. If it was only the Piemaker’s hand. C: Can I ask you for a small favor? Would you hold my hand just for a moment, but don’t say anything, and I’m gonna close my eyes. Lefty: All right. In that moment, Chuck was holding the Piemaker’s hand if only by proxy. One of my favorite moments in the entire show: ![]() The Piemaker and the girl he called Chuck marveled at love's power to conquer all obstacles. Distance and time... hardship and pain... lack of reciprocation... even death. ![]() And the Piemaker realized that while some obstacles may never disappear, you can always find a way to work around them. Oh, show, how much I'll miss you ![]() __________________ ~Andrea Which birthday do I celebrate? I've got two of them now. Last edited by strawberrypie : 04-05-2009 at 10:52 AM. | |||

| Elite Fan ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Get out the candy and the horse mugs, it's Girth time! I'm so annoyed to discover my pics don't work anymore, so I'm guessing the site is down, but I don't feel like changing 'em so.. red X's it shall be ... --- I know I'm late with this, but it's been a crazy week so shh... Also, I haven't read what anyone's said yet, just gonna put in my thoughts as usual... Afterward I'll read back and comment ![]() ------ First off, I gotta say I think this episode's narrative insight into Ned's childhood is probably my favorite... both in the way it was written and delivered by our rockin' narrator ![]() Second... Awww poor lil' Ned!! *huggles him* How crushing to see how his father's made himself a whole new life without him... As to the matter of the decorations installed by Chuck, it was so sweet how, despite his evident discomfort, he wanted her to be happy so he allowed them to stay. And I loove Chuck's green dress ![]() Oooh the wonder of Olive's bed bounce... ![]() And then the head popping aunts imagery... oh my ![]() Loooved Olive's approach with hiring Emerson, acting all sort of as though she was in some old noir film ![]() And... oh my... Emerson's laugh... priceless ![]() Last two comments best expressed with the actual scene ![]() Emerson: Oh, hang on a second, let me ask the money. [pretends to pull a phone from his jacket and speaks into it] "Hey, Money, it’s me, Emerson! I’m good, thanks for asking. Say, can I pay my bills and buy stuff with you even though you was Olive’s money first? Uh-huh … yeah … okay, baby, thanks!" Heh-heh … [flatly] The money don’t care: touch him. *claps* Loved the whole bit of Shoemaker trying to talk, the guys trying and failing to interpret, and Chuck going ahead and translating. I keep giggling every time. The ghost noises… Heee! Also love Ned's face when he goes "were you trampled by a horse?" ![]() Awww the sweetness as Ned scratches Digby with Lefty's hand ![]() Olive's faint, and Emerson's eventual dash to attend to her… Peeerfect... I also loved the four jockey guys and all… So funny ![]() Olive and Emerson working together is comedy gold… Olive bouncing off the shovel… Chuck's pep talk with Digby, showing a little 'death pride' Then love how she threw the crackers at Emerson… that should knock him out ![]() Can we just behold the cuteness… ![]() Loved the way there was a very subtle sort of parallel as Little Ned, then Adult Ned, stood in the empty bedroom, both sort of wearing the same thing… Lily scaring the trick or treaters away - of course... The whole 'bang!' exchange with Olive and Chuck just gives me the giggles, in part thanks to Emerson's butting in... I love love loooove Mamma Jacobs, which might have some ties to my love love loooooving Barbara Barrie Her little digs at the girls, with Olive's clothes and Chuck's name… *giggles*Also? I must have the monkeys… ![]() The scene with Ned and the aunts… loooove… First for this… But primarily for the exchange between Ned and Aunt Viv at the door… She, and Ellen Greene, totally own me Such a great counterpart to Lily's… grit...Pardon while I swoon at… As The Pie Maker started off, he realized that for the first time in his life, he missed something more than his past: he missed his present. Poor Olive, crying over Pinky… she just looked so very stricken ![]() I broke into such giggles when they fed Pinky from that bottle there… like he was a horse or something ![]() Look at our girls bonding over tea and booze ![]() "Yay!" ![]() Chuckles at Chuck dusting the ashes from Olive's nose… such a sweetness... Then the two of them running off while being chased, helping one another… Then Olive saves… part of the day, and Ned saves the rest! "I love you shovel"… And we love you, Emerson Cod! ![]() Halloween Chuck! Both sweet and bittersweet… Love the glee with Vivian... ![]() | |||
