How exciting is it that this new (and fabulous) show has already been nominated for a big award like the Golden Globes? It seems really quick to me for some reason. I'm not complaining though! A show this original completely deserves it.

I couldn't be more excited for Lee, Anna and the show. But seriously, how could Kristen not get a nod too? She is so good as Olive. I just love her delivery of all the crazy lines she gets. I definitely think she was robbed this time around.

I was surprise to see no nod for Chi and Kristen, specially Kristen! I mean, she did such an amazing job in every single scene she had... it really is a shame. But then again, how they expect to be fair when they have tv show, minisseries and tv movies all in the same category!? They were bound to make some mistakes...

I'm happy for Lee and Anna but i really would've liked to see Kristin and Chi get a nom to. Oh well i'm never pleased with these awards shows.

What's kind of interesting about the Golden Globes is that they tend to nominate shows that are really up and coming.

Compared to the Emmys, where the same shows and actors always seem to turn up.

Yeah, I don't understand why they lump them all into one category. It just doesn't make much sense. Hmpf. The show was still nominated for best comedy series though. Although Chi and Kristin weren't nominated in their respected categories, they still have the privilege of being nominated as being part of the collective whole of the show, if that makes sense. I'm so happy for all of them.

The raucous comedy "Knocked Up," the animated family film "Ratatouille," the final season of "The Sopranos" and the freshman comedy-fantasy series "Pushing Daisies" were named Sunday by the American Film Institute as among the best works in film and television for 2007.

The AFI calls its annual awards an almanac that records the year's outstanding achievements in film and television. The AFI Awards are the only recognition that honors the creative ensembles both in front of and behind the cameras of movies and programs that, according to the AFI, "best advanced the art of the moving image; enhanced the rich culture of America's art form; inspired audiences and artists alike; and/or made a mark on American society."

The selections are made by a 13-member jury process in which scholars, industry professionals, critics and AFI trustees come up with Top 10 lists and the reasons behind the selections. The two juries -- one for film and one for television -- met for two days of discussion and deliberations at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel before announcing their selections Sunday.

Besides "Knocked Up" and "Ratatouille," the AFI's selections for the 10 outstanding films of 2007 are "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," "Into the Wild," "Juno," "Michael Clayton," "No Country for Old Men," "The Savages" and "There Will Be Blood."

Joining "The Sopranos" and "Pushing Daisies" on the television side are "Dexter," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Friday Night Lights," "Longford," "Mad Men," "Tell Me You Love Me," "30 Rock" and "Ugly Betty."

The winners will be honored at a luncheon on Jan. 11.

They have some really great company, as well. I bet Bryan Fuller and staff are just so proud of their show. I hope ABC is too. hee.

Thanks for that, Moonie! PD is everywhere. Fuller must be proud of himself. It's rare such a great show to be recognized by all of this awards... I'm jsut sop happy PD is getting all the recognition it deserves!

Yeah.. I'm really happy about that too. At least the show got nominated, and it wouldn't be what it is without one of them.

When is the Golden Globes anyway? I have no idea

Pushing Daisies won the Satellite Awards for best comedy/musical television series
