Comic news!

Quote:
Question: Is there any news on that planned Pushing Daisies comic book? —
Ausiello: Bryan Fuller just turned in the script for the first one and he’s currently working with the show’s writers on the next three. Here’s a spoiler to whet your appetites: The first comic, which I’ve read and is awesome, features the return of ***a* *****iu*!

Wanna take a guess?

I've never tried comic books but I guess I can give it a try to get my dose of PD when I finish watching season 2. I'm not looking forward to never watching another episode of PD again.

I realise we ask a lot of questions about cancelled shows and what's happening next to Ausiello? Can I ask who he is?

But that's what DVDs are for. So that we can continue to enjoy watching this show even if there are no new ones

I actually have no idea who he is, all I know is that he often knows spoilers for TV shows

Yeah, I don't know much either . He seems to have people that inform him of spoilers and things like that.

It's crazy how much he knows!

Yeah, I've been thinking of buying the PD DVDs. I can just imagine myself snuggled up in bed with a cup of hot chocolate watching episode after episode.

I realise we're already on the fifth thread on this topic and it'll be impossible for me to sift through all the threads, find and read everything on them so I'm just going to be cheeky and take the shortcut. Can anyone tell me what the news is on the PD DVD boxsets, if there is any?

Well, the DVDs of both seasons are available in the US (I have them), but I'm not sure about elsewhere

I'm pretty sure they're available in the UK . That's where you're from, right?

Yup! Where lovely Chuck is from - England!

I just checked Amazon though and if I order them they'll be from the US. They're not available in any of our Film/Music stores so I'm guessing it might be just in the US at the moment.
Plus, they don't come as a complete season. They come separately. I'm hoping to get them as one. Also they are a bit steep! More than I thought they would be.

What about Amazon UK? They're here. Is that not good? I don't know about the prices though.

Ahh, yeah looks like they're available to order in the UK after all.

I think I'm going to wait until they release a complete boxset of the two seasons though. I have this thing about not buying seasons separately.

There's an interview with Michael Wylie, who was the Production Designer, here. It's an interesting read. Plus, some pics from the sets that are really cool. The one of the Piehole is awesome, even though it made me a little sad.

Award for Anna!

Quote:
The Street wins five awards
by Ian Westhead
Monday, 16 November 2009 13:51

Critically acclaimed series The Street, created by Jimmy McGovern for the BBC, has added more awards to its name. The series picked up five awards at the RTS North West awards ceremony held over the weekend. Amongst the awards the drama picked up was The Judges Award for the writing and production team behind the series. The award was presented to Jimmy McGovern and Sita Williams by Paul Abbott, creator of Channel Four’s drama series Shameless.

The BBC One drama also picked up Best Drama Series and former Brookside and Pushing Daisies actress Anna Friel picked up an award for her performance in an episode of the series. Esther Wilson won an award for her writing for the series and McGovern also won an award himself. Despite the critical, ratings and award winning success of The Street it will not return for another series. Although the BBC would commission another season of the drama it’s been brought to an end due to cut backs at ITV Studio’s who produce the series for the BBC.

Congrats to Anna!
