| Episode 1.01 - Series Premiere Discussion Thread (Oct. 3, 8pm on ABC) 1x01 ~ Pie-Lette  Ned, a mild-mannered baker of fabulous pies, discovered his gift as a child. Now he puts his gift to good use, working with his only friend, a private investigator, to crack murder cases by asking victims to name their killers. But the tale gets complicated, as all tales do, when he saves his childhood sweetheart and she miraculously stays alive. Each week, she encourages him to use his powers to solve mysteries and help others. Life would be perfect, except for one cruel twist: if Ned ever touches her again, she'll lose the life he gave her, for good this time. There's always a catch… Olive: Do you, uh, touch anything? Ned: Of course. I touch lots of things. Olive: With affection? When was the last time someone touched you with affection? Ned: I get touched. Ned: What if you didn't have to be dead? Chuck: That would be preferable. Chuck: I'm a friend of Ned's. Olive: Does he touch you? Emerson: You know what? We all have childhood issues, okay? Believe me, I got the full subscription, okay? Horror stories. Ned: I kind of killed her dad when I was ten. Emerson: Maybe not horror stories. Vivian: Charlotte was a nice girl. Lily: With the exception of puberty. Vivian: Which was unfortunately when Lily was going through a change of life. Lily: Impolite to discuss a person's menopause in mixed company. Vivian: It nearly killed me. Narrator: As he stared at her, he reached around his back and held his own hand, pretending he was holding hers. And at that very moment, she was pretending to be holding his. Approx. | Elite Fan   | Pushing Daisies will be on ABC and it will premiere Oct. 3 at 8pm ET. "Love me if you dare", also a French movie has that sort of Magical Realism texture to it. Magical Realism is a very Latin American literary genre, but I guess it also fits some French films, and now, Pushing Daisies. It's so beautiful to look at, and it just gives the whole thing a very fantastical feel. | |||

| I'm so excited for this show to start, I looved the premiere. I hope it'll air on a channel I can watch ROCKSTAR, that's a really good call on the magical realism. I hadn't thought of that, but you're totally right, and it's actually a genre I really like.
