I know, it made me cry too . There's a discussion for the episode here if you'd like to talk about it.

Key Lime Pie:

Quote:
6 egg yolks
1 can of sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup of key lime juice (you can buy it in a jar or just use lime or lemon juice)
1 graham cracker pie crust or baked pie crust (you choice)

Beat the egg yolks until creamy. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix well. Add the lime juice slowly as you stir. Pour into the pie crust and bake for about 10 min. at 350 to cook the egg. The lime juice actually cooks the egg but I do this as a precaution. Use the egg whites to make a meringue. Beat them till frothy and add a tsp. of cream of tarter. Add sugar as you beat until the white peak. Put the meringue on the pie and carefully brown under broiler. Watch this as you do it, I can't tell you how many times I have burnt it and had to start over with the meringue. Actually, I like to pie just plain without the topping. Chill until the pie sets. Could take several hours unless you want to eat it with a spoon like my grandchildren. Enjoy.

So I finally found time to make something yesterday, and I made an apple pie. It's all almost gone by now

Well, my pies taste good, but they don't look all that great . It's food, you're supposed to eat it, not look at it!

Perhaps, but WE can't eat it, so we NEED to look at it! And imagine it tasting yummy!

I was thinking we should post a thread for recipes from the show and now someone has! I didn't do it because I had no recipes to share, I'll have to snag them off you guys now that you have some.

Andrea - That strawberry rhubarb pie looks so good!

Julie - Would love to try that pumpkin pie - pumpkin pie has always seemed quite intriguing to me.

What kind of cheese is in a fried cheese pie? I'm from Wisconsin, and I have never heard of that. I ate fried cheese curds back home, but that is all the fried cheese I've sampled.
