I know Laura from 24. She was awesome as a baddie. I'm excited to see her in her new role as Jill.

I remember Laura from 24 and The Faculty. Of course, she was a villain in both of those, so it'll be interesting seeing her play someone good.

Tell me about it. She was SO evil in both of those things, so we know she's really good at playing evil and playing someone who's pretending to be good but really not. So yes, it'll be interesting to see her play this role.

I love Laura Harris ever since I first saw her in The Faculty. She was also awesome on both 24 and Dead Like Me, and I hope this show turns out to be a success for her as well!

I came across this interview with Laura Harris

Quote:
Q. What are some of the recent projects that you've been working on?

A. We pretty much are doing full twelve to fifteen hour days per week for "Women's Murder Club." The last project that I worked on that I really loved that was released was Severance and then this and pilot season. I was in a holding deal with ABC for a year so I kind of took advantage of that to set up my home, to get settled, meditate a lot, and then start pilot season.

Q. What can you tell us about the premise for the show and about your character?

A. The premise is based on the novels by James Patterson entitled Women's Murder Club and our narrator, heroine, our action hero is Angie Harmon, she plays Lindsay Boxer. She's a cop and then there is Claire Washburn, and she is played by Paula Newsome, she's a coroner/medical examiner. Aubrey Dollar plays our crime reporter and they're all so awesome. I play DA Jill Barnhart and everyone is really unique and different so it's a pretty cool combination. I would say that my character is probably the most different from the way the books were written.

Q. What is it about the role that drew you to want to take it on?

A. I do love suits of justice, it's incredibly fascinating, why we have laws. First of all, to be working is wonderful. Their whole view is trying to cut through red tape quickly and effectively. We solve murders together in a way that is highly unconventional and even on some level unethical. You would normally have the trusting reporter, for example, but because of who the individual characters are and what the represent, their integrity is such that they're able to work together and solve crimes together. I am personally fascinated by law, my siblings are both lawyers, why laws are created, how to keep the justice system fair and moving and alive so it actually represents and helps society and does the job it's supposed to do. How individuals and groups of people can change using the law. It's pretty fascinating once you get into it. I've met some DA friends and I went to court with them when I was prepping. It was pretty interesting the difference between Orange County, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. It depends on the county how society perceives the law, for example, San Francisco is very conservative and Orange County is very liberal. That was fascinating, I really loved going to court and seeing how that's all done. It's a very difficult job in San Francisco for that reason.

Q. Angie Harmon is famous from her role on "Law and Order," did she give you any tips on playing a lawyer?

A. It's hard to live up to because she was amazing on that show. I think I should ask her for tips this week, that'd be a good idea.

Q. What about the role is challenging for you?

A. I would say, and I am just going into it and I beg forgiveness from everyone who is watching, I promise to get better, when you're representing someone as a lawyer who only has you as their voice, it's important how you represent them and how your voice is used. So, having the conviction and confidence to get up in front of people, I'm an incredibly shy public speaker, watching the DA's in actual court, I was flabbergasted. They are completely addicted to trials, which is from my understanding so far, why most people become DA's, it's because they love the trial aspect. You get to do more trials than any other kind of law. Being in front of a jury, being in court is sort of the lawyer addiction in that area. That is definitely something that I would have to force myself to become addicted to because the stakes are so high. It's a person's whole life and prosecutors are making those decisions as to what's going to happen to this person. It's a heavy responsibility, prosecutors have a huge responsibility.

Q. Where do you draw from for your portrayal of Jill?

A. Delivering the meaning of the content is the same for television as it is in real life. It's especially important to get the meaning across of what's going on. Whether you are shy or Angie Harmon gorgeous, there is a human streamline that relieves me from witnessing it in real life versus watching the stuff I watch on television, there is a human connection between all of it.

Q. The cast has such incredible chemistry together on screen. Did that come naturally or did it develop as filming began?

A. There is just a deep, mutual respect, every single one of those women, they are so good at what they do. They are so unique in their special qualities and the chemistry, I guess we're just lucky.

Q. What is it about the show that you think will draw in viewers?

A. There is something really amazing about watching a show through a female perspective with Angie Harmon as the narrator. She's just so strong, fascinating, beautiful to watch, and funny. Then, the group of women aspect of it added on I think is something women want to see, like "Sex and The City," and I think people like to identify. Like when I watch "Friends," they seem like they're your friends. I think that's an important aspect, watching groups of women working together and also having functional friendships. It's just refreshing to see, relaxing, and it's fun to be a part of.

Q. What would you like to say to your fans and supporters?

A. I would like to say thank you so much and I am truly honored that they are there. It's very kind and I hope to do a good job and bear with me.

Thanks for the interview.

I wish Jill wasn't cheating on her boyfriend.

I really wish she wasn't either. I wonder how that situation is going to play out.

The scene at the hospital with Jill's boyfriend was really sweet.

That was a sweet scene, though I pitied the boyfriend since he had no idea what was really going on.

I really liked her scene at the end with Luke. They're really sweet together, I don't know what she was thinking with the attorney guy. Luke certainly seems like the winner to me

And how funny was the hospital scene with Lindsay?
