I was wondering about that patch on Coraline/Morgan's arm. Do you suppose she has transfusions of something that completely masks her vampire scent?
She was bleeding in that scene of the grave yard and there was fresh blood on her patch when she was reviewing her pictures with Beth at BuzzWire.

My mind really goes off on tangents but here's another theory. The guy who supposedly died 3 weeks prior to the fire is obviously involved somehow. He might be a different type of "undead"...not a vampire. He never changed to a vampire but was super strong. Maybe he rescued Coraline 22 yrs ago and changed her into whatever he is. Thats why she hasn't aged but doesn't smell like a vampire. His eyes were black as coals just like hers were at the end when she looked so "venomously" at Beth.

I might be getting this theory from the movie "Underworld" when the vamps and lychens blood mixed to make another stronger creature with coal black eyes.

I can't wait to find out the truth....

Jules -- I agree w/ much of what your said...

I loved seeing the backstory etc... I just don't get the Coraline attraction... Past or present.... I felt no chemistry between the two... Nothing so compelling that she could have such a hold on him... Nuh-uh. I couldn't buy what they were selling as far as that goes...

I agree Jules... what they 'had' was never true love etc...

I guess they're trying to create a dilemma or whatever...

But the most interesting thing in this episode is Coraline's transformation (no vampire smell yada yada...)

*shrug*

This episode mystified and confused and frustrated me, and Mick looked like his head was going to explode from confusion! He was out of his head the entire episode over this woman (was she? wasn't she? she couldn't be? but she sure seemed to be..).

And, as an aside, no more questions about his eye color - his eyes were shown off to incredibly BLUE advantage all through this episode. His astonished confused eyes were huge huge huge all through this episode. Plus, it was lit a lot less darkly than before, when his eyes seemed dark and brownish. ahem, where was I.. oh yeh, the episode..

I agree with jules that what they had wasn't love, it was a sexual burning obsession sort of thing - not necessarily by her vampire power (humans get those - they burn hot and they burn badly more often than not) but maybe her powers were part of it. Mick was besotted and out of his head over her. They didn't have a relationship, they had lust/obsession.

Yes, I was wondering up until the end if she was the real Coraline, back from the dead, or a weird twin - but I was pretty convinced Coraline was coming back, and if so, this had to be her.. but even I thought Mick was wrong near the end, along with Mick. How did she mask her vampire scent - how did she pull of bleeding regular blood, etc? I doubt she found her way back from immortality to being human, but however she did it - clever trick, to fool not only young Mick but Josef as well.

And interesting the discussion about how Mick hates what he is and wants to turn back and be mortal. And if he was a regular guy, he could get a second chance at happiness - with Beth. (sigh!)

And did she kill the real Morgan and assume her identity, since Beth called Morgan's family and there is a real Morgan (was anyway) out there? shiver!

So many questions! My brain was just reeling after this one.

Yes yes, the knees touching in the office, that was wonderful! And Beth instantly becoming jealous of Mick's odd fascination that was way more than professional with Morgan.

I think Coraline was asking each of them if they were into one another, because if they admitted it - she was planning to hurt them, probably she would have found a way to kill Beth, to get back at Mick. So it's good they both denied it - even if she could sense what was going on. I still think she's back to make Mick's life a living hell and she's going to try to get at him through Beth, maybe even through Josef.

LOL, loved Josef being all lazy about doing vamp leaping on roofs and getting his hands dirty, being intrigued by the tacky small lives of normal, working class mortals, etc.

And why did he only tell Beth half the story - that he killed his wife, but not why. Surely, that would be scary, to think Mick had killed somebody he loved. If he killed his wife.. couldn't he just as easily kill her if things didn't work out? I wish he'd fill in the blanks. Just like a man, though, they never tell you the whole story! LOL!

Gosh I love this show!

Finally getting around to post.
I am completely in love with this episode. What a brilliant ride. I was about as confused as Mick the whole ep through.
Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

There knee's were touching! How did I miss that ...

I totally agree about how his relaitionship with Coraline wasn't a healthy one. It wasn't based on trust or on emotional level.

I didn't find or have I ever found Beth to be annoying. Yes she has a boyfriend but it seems that their relationhship has run it's course. You can't help who you love. It doesn't make her a bad person. I think she loves Josh but isn't in love with him. She mentioned to Mick that things between them were like a honeymoon when they were first together. But it's not that way now.

I agree. I loved the episode.

I am a little confused still about the Coraline not smelling like a vampyre thing, but I guess that will be explained later.

Just for clarity's sake here....do we all agree that Coraline is still a vampire?
Because I think she definitely is. First of all, Josef said that he knew Coraline for 100 years before Mick and that he (Josef) would not want to go back to being human. So I think even if Coraline had the chance to be human again, she wouldn't want to be, since I don't think she hated being a vampire like Mick does.

Next point: If there was a way for vampires to become human again, Mick would find it, use it, become human and marry Beth. End of Story. I know how we all like to think there will be a happy ending, but they want this show to continue, and End of Story, happily ever after is kind of boring. Or at least the networks/producers/writers seem to think so.

Ok, end of rant.
Happy 6 days until next friday!!

P.S. did anyone else think it was weird that coraline/morgan wasn't even in the preview for next week?

Finally got to watch it! What an uncomfortable episode to watch I felt just as lost as Mick. I was on the edge of my seat during the whole hour. I still don't know what to think. Coraline is definitely still a vampire, I don't think there's a "cure", she must've found a way to mask it, that's all...I don't like her at all, by the way

Loved the Mick/Josef interaction, these two have the best scenes

Not enough Mick/Beth, but I loved the "You're jealous." moment and there's definitely some angst coming our way

Overall I thought it was a very strong episode! I'm still kinda shaky after watching it

Agreed, Coraline, is an unhealthy situation for Mick, not love, lust. It would be interesting later to see how things were lead up to them actually getting married.
They aren't a couple to me, and never were.

I thought Mick lost it, around her, he did to a point. He had every reason to, in the end.....he was right......wasn't he about her? Yes......I'd say. But, only Coraline knows that.

Coraline, is hiding the truth from Mick, she is after something, and wants something. Revenge? Who knows. She either found something to work to her advantage, or some higher up brought her back, and she's working for someone else. The story will unravel later, will be good, we know it. I love how this show is going.

I think Coraline is going to be a hit and miss in the episodes, again, we'll findout. I don't think she'll be around for every episode.

Beth watching her at the end, and she had this blank stare, it was unnerving to say the very least. Tension, distrust, who are you really, what's going on, I know something you don't looks. All very interesting.

This is the most mystifying episode yet!

Probably. Seems like she wants to torture Mick and make him suffer Unless she has a hidden agenda and has something really unexpected planned.

This is what is confusing me - is Coraline still a vampire or not? She doesn't smell like a vampire to Mick. And it seems to me that the ex-wife would be pretty pissed if her ex-husband killed her. How would she be holding all that in and show absolutely no recognition of Mick in any of the scenes? I guess that final scene proves she really is Coraline, but it's still really confusing.

And this is what Shannyn Sossamon said in an interview, which doesn't really clear things up either: (From Moonlight-Detective and IGNtv)

Quote:
In an interview, Shannyn Sossamon revealed that Coraline will be seen in the present during this, the seventh, episode. Shannyn says, “it’s definitely not what you expect. I think what everyone would expect is the bitchy ex-wife coming back, pissed off that he’s having this new connection with this girl and trying to either get revenge, or ****** it up, or get him back. That’s the typical [direction], but it’s not that at all, it’s not even close” Sossamon said when she heard what was going to occur, she thought “‘Oh my god, that’s interesting!’ It’s actually weirder. It’s different. It’s darker. It’s darker, but in a subtle way, as opposed to playing it like I’m really coming back and pissed.”

I really loved this episode and having Coraline in the mix finally just adds a different dynamic. I loved the flashbacks and being fooled myself right along with Mick and Josef until the very end. Although in the end I knew in my gut it was her. But I still loved the reveal and her look after she walked away from Beth. Can't wait to find out how she's doing it.

And Mick and Josef were so great tonight. Loved Josef's reluctance at investigating which made for some great one liners. And I loved their heart to heart at the end with Josef saying one of these days Mick was going to have to stop hating what he is.

Oh man, what can I say? I absolutely loved this episode and the 'darkness' of it! I liked that we got to see a less than romantic side of Mick. The obsessiveness was amazing! I also wonder how they ended up married. And personally, I think his chemistry with Coraline is ten times what he has with Beth.

I loved Beth for flirting with Mick the way she did. She really was jealous. I wonder if Mick will act on that. I doubt it, since he will have a hard time letting go of 'Morgan'.

I loved, loved, loved the episode. It was interesting, intriguing, and fantastic. I loved being able to see how Mick was with Coraline/Morgan in both the past and present. I loved how Beth got jealous and Mick called her on it. The tat reveal at the end was awesome! I think she just has figured out a way to mask her vampire scent. I don't think she has turned back to human. I think she is a powerful vamp with awesome powers and she can manipulate them better than most vamps.
