First, I'm honored one of my fics (HLWH) is a story you read every year.

Second, the story sounds like luvcali's Highway Through Hell. She took down all her T7S stories earlier this year, and unfortunately I don't know anyone who has a copy of it (but I've just asked someone who might. I'll let you know if/when she gets back to me if she has it).

Colleen, yes. Exactly. They shouldn't have broken up in the first place, but since they had, at least their reconciliation could've matched the episodes before and after it.

The writers could have gotten them back together in so many ways, instead they just cheapened out.

They went for jokes, and they disrespected J/H, their six years of history on the show, and their fans. And had J/H been together during S8 with the S8 showrunners and writers, their relationship would've been written even worse, so there was no way to win in that season.

But at least when we did get good character development between J/H during seasons 6 and 7, it tended to be very good. The car show episode gave us a lot of shippy gifts character details about their relationship.

I agree. While season 6/7 were not the best for them, they had some good in character moments and episodes. It just wasn't consistent.

Not at all. And as I continue to work on the comics version of season 6, I've realized how unkind the season was to Eric's characterization, too. It was bad for Red and Kitty, but that's obvious.

I enjoy writing a Jackie and Hyde who've gotten through most of their communication issues and trust their feelings for each other. Allows for different kinds of stories.

I think season 6 could've totally been like that for J/H and should have been. Their best episodes and scenes of the season show them to be like that, accepting and trusting how in love they are with each other.

I think J/H fans will be bitter until the end of time (to use an Eric-ism) about how J/H's relationship was treated by the show in the end. The characters and fans deserved better.
