Yeah, she manages to do it in "Jackie Bags Hyde" (3x08). And Hyde tries to make sure Chip will treat Jackie right. If Chip had turned out to be a good guy, Hyde probably would've backed off, trusting that Jackie wasn't entering into another abusive relationship. But Chip turned out to be an a-hole -- and pow!

S5 had the best make-outs. One of my favorite moments of Season 5 is when after their friends find out about their relationship they still decide to continue their make out sessions even though they said they would stop
At this point it's more than just a summer fling. I also love that Jackie wasn't demanding for a commitment like she would with Kelso.

That's true! It is refreshing, come to think of it. But I also believe there's no way Jackie would've fooled around with Hyde if she didn't have feelings for him. She just wasn't sharing them. And my head!canon is that Hyde had lingering feelings for Jackie since "Jackie Bags Hyde," so he and Jackie mutually agreed (though probably without actually stating it; a silent agreement) to view what they were doing as a fling -- in order to feel safe about it.

Instead of their regressive storyline in S7 (starting in "Winter"), they should've just made out. It would've been a better use of their on-screen time (though better storylines, of course, would've been the best).

Jackie deserved an, "I love you," from him in that moment. He acted like the injured party when he wasn't. She was. I hate most of their reconciliations on the show. They're so badly written. The only good one is in "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You".

Though I do love "Magic Bus," the ep after "Join Together" and that moment you linked. Hyde's better written there.

I always hated their reconciliations on the show too. I always wanted to ask the writers if they watched the show when they wrote them.
