'Lonely, I'm Not' starts previews at Second Stage Theatre.
Lonely, I’m Not gets company on April 10, when the world premiere Paul Weitz play begins previews at off-Broadway's Second Stage Theatre. Screen favorites Topher Grace and Olivia Thirlby star in the comedy, directed by Trip Cullman. Lonely, I’m Not will officially open on May 7.

At an age when most people are discovering what they want to do with their lives, Porter (Grace) has been married and divorced, earned seven figures as a corporate “ninja,” and had a nervous breakdown. It’s been four years since he’s had a job or a date, and he’s decided to give life another shot. Lonely, I’m Not is a comic journey that follows Porter as he meets an ambitious young businesswoman (Thirlby) who is overcoming her own obstacles to emotional success.

Joining Grace and Thirlby on stage will be Christopher Jackson, Mark Blum, Lisa Emery and Maureen Sebastian. Lonely, I’m Not features scenic design by Mark Wendland, costume design by Emily Rebholz, lighting design by Matt Frey, sound design by Bart Fasbender and projection design by Aaron Rhyne.

I like the romantic comedies too but there are some serious movies I really like too. And remember not to double-post.

oops sorry Jess ....okay henceforth will avoid all double posts like the plague...and on that note,

I read a couple of reviews of April 10th's preview show of 'Lonely, Im not' and they weren't positive ....so Im not inclined to link them in here (hey those 2 reviewers could have been stupid, right ? )....

There are 'preview' shows happening across the next few weeks before it officially opens mid May. Oh, and the initial preview attendees seemed to generally feel it had a few 'sweet' scenes , but would have made a better movie than play....watch this space for more updates.

But the criticism was about the play itself, not the acting, right? So that's something.

well, one of the reviews said , he was good but not great - but if he wasn't great in something, it can only mean that he did the best he could with the material given

Well, good is better than, "He sucked!" I mean, it's all subjective anyway. I read the NY TIMES, and though I like a lot of the reviews there, I don't agree with all of them.

I've seen those pictures before. I keep actors and their roles separate. My lust love for Hyde doesn't leave that boundary. I think DM did a great job portraying him, but that's as far as it goes. I do think it's cool the actors still meet and hang out from time-to-time.

I am exactly the same ! My admiration is only for the star wars loving skinny boy who has a voice like a dream. I meant Eric Forman of course.
TG did a great job portraying him

Nasman, I think you're talking about the movie 'Crusaders' that was in the news a couple of years ago as being in post production ...you are right , its vanished.

Jess, are you anywhere near NYC ? Tickets are available on broadway.com and when I checked last - 2tickets to one of the previews was less than 100 Us $, honestly thought broadway plays would be more expensive than that , esp one with celebrities acting and a pretty well known director as well

I so would have gone but I dont live in the US ....the adverts say 'world premiere' whatever that means ...so perhaps if it does well, it will come to London west end, and i will be able to see it then - i know nothing abt how theatre productions work.



edit - oh and if one of us did get to go, lets get a couple of autograph, s from him that say ' to my fans at ff - keep on keeping on'

well, maybe he will come to london for the premiere of one of his 2012 films...but he is not in a leading role in either of them , so not sure abt that.
