She could use some therapy, tbh, but with a good therapist. Not the scam one she, Kitty, and Midge went to -- and the one after that Midge went to.

And I think Laurie might actually enjoy therapy. She took a psychology class in college and seemed generally interested in that kind of thing. Which could've allowed her to "know thyself" and analyze why she'd acted out the way she had.

And she would be genuinely happy finally (without causing others pain).

That would be lovely to see. Laurie deserved that so much.

She deserved thorough and complex character development in season 6. And no more ****-shaming jokes at her (or anyone's) expense.

She did. Laurie was a good person deep down, I just think she had issues that needed to be dealt with.

Laurie did some pretty awful things, tbh, but they were played for humor, so it's easy to gloss over them. What she does to Kelso in "Red's Last Day" (2x02) should've sent her to prison. But the show, unfortunately, tended to ignore its own history. It's the same with Hyde's terrible treatment of Donna in season 1.

But leaving out "Red's Last Day," the rest of Laurie's bad behavior is correctable. Season 5 opened up the potential of, finally, making her a round character instead of her just being an antagonist who hurts the people around her and, in turn, gets insulted by the people she hurts.

Laurie did do some bad things, part of me thinks they were for attention and her need to be accepted and loved. Maybe I am psycho analyzing her way too much, lol.

Nah, we can never analyze these characters too much, Colleen.

I think she chose unavailable men (i.e. men already in a committed relationship with someone else) because she's afraid of commitment. And her self-esteem is so low that she tries to push others down so she'll feel taller.

In season 5, she seemed ready to move beyond all of that. Marrying Fez is quite the commitment, too.

She did seem ready to move on in season 5 and start to grow. If only we could have seen that continue.
