I think Red thought of Hyde as a second son too, even if he wouldn't admit it out loud. Actions speak louder than words.

I do, too... For me, what clinched it is when Red spends an hour yelling at Hyde in "Reefer Madness". Kitty's right; that really is Red's way of showing his love.

Red was so worried that Hyde had screwed up his life, and when he learned Hyde had actually gone to jail to protect Jackie, I'm sure he was relieved.

I am sure Red was relieved that Hyde went to jail for protecting Jackie too and not for some other reason.

Red was also relieved to learn in "Misty Mountain Hop" that the pot wasn't Hyde's but Kelso's. Once he knew it wasn't Hyde's, Red didn't care anymore -- well, as much.

I think Red was happy that it wasn't Hyde's pot, he didn't mind much that it was Kelso's. Let's face it Red didn't feel the same way about Kelso as he did Hyde.

^Yep, that's definitely true.

He had a 'soft spot' for Hyde that he didn't really have with Kelso or Fez.

I sometimes think Red had a softer spot for Hyde then he did Eric. I think he related to Hyde more on a different level.

So I was watching the Pilot and its so weird hearing Hyde call Eric by his first name instead of Forman.

Yeah! And it's the first dialogue of the show, too.

Afterward, Hyde called Eric by his first name only when he was making a point or burning him.

Kelso called Eric "Forman" in the pilot, too. But afterward, he calls Eric "Eric".

Jackie calls Kelso "Kelso" in "Roller Disco". They were broken up then, so it works.

For me it's weird when Jackie calls Hyde, by Hyde. I am so used to her calling him Steven now. On the same token, it's also weird to hear her call Kelso, by Kelso as well.

Also I noticed both Kelso and Donna had overalls. Was wearing overalls like a thing back in the 70s?

Apparently.

Hyde rocks a pair of purple overalls, too, in season 1. They're awful.
