In S5, Hyde was very contrite. I get that he was angry Jackie played games with him, but I think real!Hyde was emotionally intelligent enough to understand why she played those games.

Real Hyde was an extremely smart person and would have been able to figure it out, that's for sure. He would have been mad but been able to see her side of things.

On a more positive note...

Kitty and Red in "Leo Loves Kitty". Red really put his foot in his mouth when he said Kitty was too old for crushes. She wanted Red to show some jealousy, and he did so artificially -- and then, when she called him on it, it seems like he was genuine, but I can never tell.

I could never tell either if his jealousy was real or not. It seemed genuine at the end, but with Red you never know.

I really don't know. Kitty seemed happy enough, which is what makes me think Red was being genuine.

I guess Kitty would know, she knows Red well.

I'll have to pay even closer attention to that scene the next time I watch that episode.

Despite Red's inconsistent crabby attitude about being married in S5, he really did take care of menopausal Kitty as best he could.

Red was crabby about it, which was to be expected but he did do a good job of being there for Kitty. Red is just a good man like that.

I just hated Red's S5 lines about marriage equaling his life being over. Pre-S5, he made it clear that his life with Kitty equaled his happiness.

I hated that line too, but I always tried to take it that he wasn't being serious. He was trying to look tough in front of the Eric's friends.

Red said that line in response to Donna trying to explain how she and Eric are perfect for each other -- hence their engagement. I couldn't bear to put it in the comics, so I changed it.

I can understand Red being cranky about Kitty's menopause... but not to the point where he regrets all their years together or marrying her. It's not believable.

Real Red never would have regretted anything about his life with Kitty. I think he was using a lot of defense mechanisms to try to deal with Kitty's menopause.

One of my favorite things about Red and Kitty is when they'd run upstairs to have "fun times" in their bedroom.

That was so cute. I also like the time they had their fun times in the basement.

The gang didn't like it, though. They sensed something "evil" had happened. At least they never found out what... otherwise, I think Donna's living room would've become the new hangout.
