I've written a new fanfic!
--- Jackie Stargazer [FFnet / AO3] Summary: A funeral brings Jackie and Hyde together after fourteen years apart. Trauma made them wanderers, vagabonds moving in opposite directions. But the rock band Hyde roadies for reconnects them in ways neither expects. Rated: M -- Followjackiestargazer on tumblr for chapter art and other story extras. --- Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 776 Episode 509.5 - “A Jackie Burkhart Christmas” --- Comments: Despite that Point Place has three Christmases in one year, we were deprived of Jackie and Hyde’s first Christmas as a couple. I chose to rectify that. I also wanted to have a sweet Red/Kitty moments, not just in this original comic episode but also throughout the comics’ version of season 5. That season on the show destroys a good portion of their S1-S4 relationship dynamic for “the laughs”. I was determined to reaffirm how devoted Red is to Kitty and that Kitty is the only woman for him. --- Christmas PNG pack II. Star Vector Brush Set PS7 --- Quote:

Classic Comics Sunday:
--- Those ’70s Comics: 777 Episode 509.5 - “A Jackie Burkhart Christmas” --- Comments: I’ve gotten several asks over the years on The Stupid Helmet blog (on tumblr) about why Jackie doesn’t say, “I love you,” to Hyde -- at least on-screen -- more than the once in “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You (5x16). She says it to Kelso a lot during their relationship. In the comics, I decided to show why Jackie keeps her I-love-you to herself once she’s fully in love with Hyde. It’s precisely because of Kelso betrayed her, despite all their I-love-yous to each other. She wants to be absolutely sure Hyde won’t do the same, which is why she blurts, “I love you!” when he feels betrayed by her and she wants to make sure he knows he’s the one she loves, not Kelso. Not so Hyde will take her back. She just wants him to know. But after that first I-love-you, during the course of their relationship, Jackie is much more like Hyde in -- showing her love rather than saying it (to him, at least; she does tell other people she loves him). --- Complete Tree Brush Pack --- Quote:

Classic Comics Saturday
--- Those ’70s Comics: 778 Episode 509.5 - “A Jackie Burkhart Christmas” --- Comments: This original episode is a precursor, in many ways, to “Whole Lotta Love” (5x16) as well as continuing Hyde’s characterization in “Black Dog” (5x09), where he never gives up trying to make Jackie feel better despite his many failures -- and so many other great aspects of his character Jackie brings out in him in the best-written episodes (for them) of season 5. This comic also foreshadows Roy’s eventual appearance and gives us some details about Hyde’s experience with him. __________________

Classic Comics Sunday
--- Those ’70s Comics: 779 Episode 509.5 - “A Jackie Burkhart Christmas” --- Comments: I’ve written about this before, but the show gave us glimpses of Jackie and Hyde’s private moments together. We also glean some facts about the true depth of their relationship from lines of dialogue and their consistent physical (not sexual) closeness on-screen. I wanted to open the doors to what we didn’t get to see on-screen. To show the more intimate emotional details of Jackie and Hyde’s relationship and more of the in-between steps of their development (and growth) as a couple. Today’s comic does just that. Despite Hyde’s skepticism about Jackie’s explanations for her tears and other fear-driven behavior, he shows his love and gives her his support. The answers aren’t as important to him as helping Jackie through whatever it is she’s not telling him (yet). Plus, he completely understands keeping one’s trouble and pain close to the vest. It’s been his mode of survival since he was a young kid. So he can’t -- and doesn’t -- fault Jackie foe doing the same. But since he recognizes the protection mechanism, it causes him to worry. He can base his actions on only what he knows. Right now, all he knows is Jackie needs his support. __________________
