 Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 698 Inspired by episode 508 - “Thank You”  --- Comments: I transformed this scene from the show into one that develops Jackie’s character and her relationship with Hyde. Later in the episode, Jackie and Hyde are shown talking on the staircase. I wanted to use this particular moment as in introduction to that conversation in the comics ... and to illustrate why Jackie and Hyde fell in love with each other. Give more than a glimpse of their private conversations and how their relationship changed the other for the better. Jackie also evens the score by using Hyde’s words in “Going to California” (5x01) about her “chattiness” against his own “chattiness”. In both instances, they’d actually been talking about something deep, not superficial; but he’d earned a little payback regardless for being such a smart mouth toward her, as Red might say. --- Miranda, thank you so much!  Classic Comics Sunday --- Those ’70s Comics: 699 Inspired by episode 508 - “Thank You”  --- Comments: Hyde’s heart becomes an important character of its own while Hyde struggles with his fears and insecurities about being in love. In this comic, Hyde realizes he and Jackie aren’t truly opposites, after all. Their personalities are, of course, different, but compassion lies at the core of both of them -- despite that neither of them enjoy admitting that. --- Colleen, thank you! Lulu, Hyde is definitely helping Jackie wake up to the world outside her upbringing.  __________________

Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 700 Inspired by episode 508 - “Thank You”  --- Comments: Despite their story arc(s) in season 5, we didn’t get to see enough of Jackie and Hyde’s private, relationship-building moments. We sometimes heard about them in general terms, like how Jackie and Hyde have deep conversations, but a lot of what we know about how they relate to each other outside of conflict, resolving conflicts, and making out comes from background moments that probably weren’t scripted. The comics, however, let me expand on and deepen their relationship based on what we do get of it and their characterization in the show. --- Dasha, I'm so glad! __________________
