 Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 515 Inspired by episode 502 - “I Can’t Quit You, Baby”  --- Comments: I wrote the circle of this episode both weirder and reflective of the additions and changes I’ve made to the storylines. Donna’s characterization here is also more consistent than it is in the episode, and she acknowledges the changing date of Eric’s birthday. “Eric’s Birthday” (1x02) takes place only a week or two after “That ‘70s Pilot” (1x01), which takes place about three months (plus or minus a few weeks) before “The Best Christmas Ever” (1x12). Therefore, Eric’s birthday is likely in September. Art-wise, what struck me when reading the comic for today is the lack of facial expressions, save Eric’s smile -- which is, itself, an earlier version of what would become his standard smile. --- Vector ‘Style’ Hearts from melsbrushes.co.uk __________________

Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 517 Inspired by episode 502 - “I Can’t Quit You, Baby”  --- Star Vector Brush Set PS7 --- Comments: Midge jumped out of a cake once. Although Kitty was high when she learned that fact in “Garage Sale,” in the world of the comics she retained that info and told Eric at some point. Eric really wants to convince Bob not to send Donna to a different high school, so he uses what he knows and pulls out all the stops. Until, of course, he sees Donna in her new uniform. Eric might say, “I’m seventeen. What do you expect?” It sucks for Donna, though. She gets objectified even more during those early episodes of season 5 because of that uniform. If I were writing comics for this episode now, I would have Donna ask Eric if seeing her in that uniform is worth not seeing her in school anymore. It would lead to an important conversation between them. Eric also seems to be wearing one of Hyde’s shirts in the episode. Even if it’s real-world not one of Hyde’s from T7S’s wardrobe department, it resembles shirts he’s worn, like the one from “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You” (5x14) minus the logo. __________________
