--- Those ’70s Comics: 380 Inspired by episode 423 - “Hyde’s Birthday” --- Comments: Kelso’s story about Eric throwing a rabbit up a tree is one of the most beloved among T7S fans. I decided to illustrate it rather than change it in any significant way. --- Lulu, Jackie has a creative imagination. Kayla, thank you! __________________

One Difference: Jackie and Hyde Don't Kiss
Chapter. 8: Flirting with Imprisonment [ FFNet / AO3 ] --- Summary: With the basement to themselves, Jackie and Hyde can’t seem to stay away from each other. Buried feelings rise to the surface. Jackie makes the first move, but Hyde blocks it. Rather than kissing, they end up in a chess match of escalating risks and consequences. Rated: M --- Those '70s Comics: 2148 Inspired by episode 613 - "Won't Get Fooled Again" --- Kayla, Colleen, I'm glad you both enjoyed it! __________________

Classic Comics Saturday
--- Those ’70s Comics: 381 Inspired by episode 423 - “Hyde’s Birthday” --- Comments: That Jackie is one of the main people setting up Hyde’s birthday party is a significant piece of characterization, considering when it happens: season four. Their antagonism had long ago evolved into connection. She no longer idealizes him, so that doesn’t motivate her here. Though the show never defines what Jackie and Hyde are to each other post-”Jackie Bags Hyde” and before season five, one can infer from their treatment of each other that they’ve become friends. The show’s writers probably didn’t think of them that way. They probably didn’t think in terms of Jackie and Hyde at all except in how Jackie’s actions would affect Kelso and Jackie and Kelso. Jackie and Hyde’s storyline was over as far as they were concerned (until, of course, the showrunners – the Filgos – hired for season five likely asked that Jackie and Kelso be separated by the end of the season, to open the door for Jackie and Hyde). In the comics, however, Jackie and Hyde’s “in between” relationship isn’t nebulous. They’re both fighting their feelings for each other for their own reasons, and Jackie’s motivation in the comics’ version of this episode is to show Hyde she cares about him. --- Soap bubbles by LoRdaNdRe on DeviantArt __________________
