 Classic Comics Sunday --- Those ’70s Comics: 424 Inspired by episode 426 - “Everybody Loves Casey”  --- Comments: Hyde’s last line in this comic isn’t how he truly feels. It’s the opposite. He’s referencing the fact Jackie talks a lot (obviously) and is unhappy that (he believes) deepening their relationship won’t happen because of Kelso’s hold on her. Of course, regardless of whether Kelso lets Jackie go, Jackie has every right to let him go, not to pursue a relationship with anyone, to pursue a relationship with whoever she wants (as long as it’s mutual), or to pursue a relationship with Hyde (if he’s interested, too). The show often portrays Kelso as having feelings of entitlement to Jackie – and, unfortunately, Hyde doesn’t escape that trait, either, during the second half of season 5. Fez behaves the same way toward Jackie, particularly in season 3. The writers likely didn’t recognize that was how they wrote their male characters, but that doesn’t excuse the writing or the characters’ behavior. Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 425 Inspired by episode 427 - “Love Wisconsin Style”  --- Comments: Kitty’s choice to buy Eric ice cream after his dental appointment is questionable. I’m not sure if the writers intended for that to be a joke or not. But today’s comic also references the fact the show eventually turns Kitty into an alcoholic – a character shift Those ‘70s Comics has course-corrected. --- happy rainbow brushes by chokingonstatic __________________
