 Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 204 Inspired by episode 312 - “Fez Gets the Girl” --- Comments: This is one bizarre comic. The source of Jackie’s hostility toward Kelso is obvious: he broke her heart by cheating on her. Jackie’s hostility toward Hyde, however, has to do with not yet understanding her growing feelings for him. They scare her. __________________

 Classic Comics Sunday --- Those '70s Comics: 205 Inspired by episode 312 - “Fez Gets the Girl” --- Comments: Eric says in the episode, “So, not only are they gonna hang my picture in the front of the store, but I also get to represent our entire district in the national Price-Mart Olympics.” I decided to show what Eric might have to do at the Price-Mart Olympics. It did not go well for him. __________________

Inspired by episode 606 - "We're Not Gonna Take It" --- Kayla, thank you!  Furiosity, thank you, too!  Hyde seems particularly cranky or sullen in "We're Not Gonna Take It" (606), almost as if he's upset about something but trying to hide it. So I decided to give him the subtext of being torn between loyalties. It's been fun deepening these season 6 episodes so that all the characters have development arcs, not just Kelso.  __________________

I like that you didn't have Laurie say she spent the money on a mirror and wine(?) like New!Laurie said in the actual show. I always hated that line. It made Laurie too dumb. Laurie could be ditzy, but she wasn't full-on dumb like they tried to make her seem later on. She was really clever when it came to being devious, and was pretty studious in early S1 episodes.
But anyway, great comics this week and it's nice to see the Laurie/Fez storyline playing along like it should have. I like how you take advantage of the comics format to get inside the characters' heads. I'm just now appreciating that. |

Inspired by episode 606 - "We're Not Gonna Take It" --- Furiosity, thanks! Laurie's character was decimated by the recast. Bad characterization, bad dialogue, etc. It would've been much more satisfying to see Fez and Laurie's relationship develop properly and disturb all those around them. Fez and Laurie could've influenced each other to grow and change, too. And I'm glad you like the characters' thoughts. Being able to write those allows me to deepen their characters.
