 Classic Comics Sunday --- Those ’70s Comics: 197 Inspired by episode 310 - “Ice Shack” --- Comments: The T7S writers were going for irony in “Jackie Bags Hyde” (308) by making Hyde the one to have genuine feelings for Jackie after all his denials and protestations while Jackie ultimately doesn’t feel anything when she finally gets what she thinks she wants. I would’ve bought Jackie’s claim at face value – If that episode hadn’t been followed up by seasons 5-7. Today’s comic gives Jackie’s claim subtext (and an explanation) that better fits her later characterization.  Classic Comics Saturday --- Those ’70s Comics: 198 Inspired by episode 310 - “Ice Shack” --- Comments: On the show, we never get a follow-up to either Jackie or Hyde’s feelings about what happened between them in “Jackie Bags Hyde” (308). Hyde is show to confide in Leo several times throughout the series, however, partly because Hyde knows Leo won’t remember what Hyde said. In today’s Hyde confides in Leo – in a veiled way – that he’s developed romantic feelings for Jackie. Leo also unintentionally makes a grammar joke. __________________

Oh how I've missed these comics! I think "I'm Free" is the funniest one yet, Lisa. I like how you addressed the time issues on the show. I also like how Hyde was a part of the interviewing with the rest of the family. You made a good point about him being a part of the family. Once again, you've proved that an episode can still be funny AND service the characters, something the show runners seemed to forget by this time.

Inspired by episode 605 - "I'm Free" --- Thank you so much, Furiosity!  Point Place's special time stream will come up again in the comics. And, yeah, it's frustrating in the later episodes when Hyde isn't included as part of the Formans' family. Kitty and Red talk about Eric's sacrifices for them, etc., to help them financially and with chores and what-not, but Hyde's been doing that all along without complaint.__________________
