Jackie would audition for the role of Jackie because she'd insist that no one else will do her justice.

And she'd rewrite the part.

She just might.

It would turn out just like the Christmas play!

And Donna would know how Eric felt that Christmas, and maybe he would try to help her out -- or he would enjoy being on the other side of it (until Donna gets upset he didn't support her/back her up).

I can see Eric enjoying it at first, and then finally relenting and helping her.

Agreed, I think he'd support her eventually.

After he had a few laughs, though. But then he'd realize how upset Donna really was.

But maybe Jackie and Hyde would explain to them that although they think the depictions of the others are funny, no one likes how s/he comes across in the play (and the story it's based on). The only reason they agreed to be the actors is so they could protect their reps and be portrayed more accurately.

Donna might argue until Jackie and Hyde point out how extreme she wrote certain character traits. By the end of it, only Kelso's character might be unchanged.

The question is would Donna's writing be so off mark to begin with?

It might be. In "Donna's Story" (4x08) she vilifies Eric pretty badly.

Derek: Begone, Sir Bonkers.

---

But we never see/hear the second half of her story where Derek/Eric is supposedly written more sympathetically.

Eric's revenge story in that ep is malicious, but it's also hilarious -- because of what it tells us about Eric and how he thinks.

Wanda: Even witches have itches.

Derek: All is forgiven!

But his story highlights the dearth in his characterization. Being in a romantic relationship with Donna and having sex with her tend to be his main motivations/goals.

That's true, sometimes that did seem to be his only goals, but I liked when we saw more sides to him.

Yeah. It's like the opposite of the Bechdel test with him. His conversations with others are often about Donna instead of what he wants to do with his life (or anything that isn't Donna/girl-related). When it's not about Donna, it's about Red. And once or twice about Hyde. And Star Wars.
