It could've been great. Kelso and Brooke end up together. No need to break up Jackie and Hyde with that ridiculous season 7 cliffhanger.

Yes! That would have solved more than one problem!

Forethought! That's all it would have taken to make that work, even without Brooke as a regular on the show. She and Kelso could've gotten engaged anyway.

Right! They could have made it work even if she just guest stared once in awhile. Other shows have done it!

A little imagination and some courage would've gone a long way on T7S. Oh, well.

But I would've enjoyed seeing a totally in-love and unselfish Kelso on the show. It might've helped Eric and Hyde both recognize their own deficits (from the shock of Kelso's passion and commitment to Brooke). Although if Kelso was being written that way, then Eric and Hyde probably would've been written properly, too, during the later seasons.

It would have been great to see that. Brooke was the best part of Kelso's development.

It was -- especially because he respected her. She's the first woman/female character he truly seems to respect (although the concept of respect for him is still relative -- but she taught him more about what being respectful means).

I could see Jackie getting a little upset upon realizing Kelso finally respects a woman. Not that she wants Kelso romantically for herself. More, "Why didn't he treat me that way?"

I could see that, but then being happy for him and proud he has grown up.

Eventually being happy for Brooke, mostly. So she doesn't have to go through what Jackie did with Kelso.

Of course, Brooke's three years older than Jackie -- and twenty-years-old, I think, in season 6. Jackie at fourteen and Brooke at twenty is a big difference in life experience and maturity. So Brooke wouldn't accept Kelso's B.S. -- just as Jackie at seventeen wouldn't.

That's a good point, sometimes three years can make a big difference in maturity.

Adding to this, I doubt Brooke at fourteen would've dated Kelso. Of course, Brooke at twenty wouldn't have, either, had they not been connected by her pregnancy.
