Kelso caring about people who aren't him, for one. That happened rarely.

Selfless might be a stretch but more considerate, sure.

At least toward Brooke. He still did jerky things to his friends (like "borrowing" their toys and melting them).

That's true. I think though if their relationship had continued, we would have seen Kelso become less selfish.

Agreed. If only to model the right behavior for his kid. Brooke would emphasize that.

Because Shannon Elizabeth left the show (or the show let her go).

But had Brooke stayed a regular during season 7, I think the writers could've/would've done a story arc where Kelso becomes Mr. Responsible (or tries to). We saw him attempt this during "Happy Jack" (6x17) at the police academy. He really does pour his heart and soul into what he believes (whether it's satisfying his impulses or becoming a model cop).

Not sure how much his friends would like Kelso that way, but maybe Donna would convince them that this Kelso is a vast improvement from the way he used to be.

I still think even if Shannen Elizabeth left the show, they could have worked around it. They could have found creative ways to still keep her around with out actually having her be around.

I agree, although it would've been frustrating not to see Kelso with his new family. I wanted an episode (or six) where we got to see Kelso and Brooke parenting Betsy together.

Me too! Those dynamics would bring out a different side in Kelso (probably) that I would love to see more of.

Yeah, if the writers allowed him to develop as a character and derived the humor from that, it would've been fun.

I would have loved to see Kelso more as a parent. It would be a growing process for him.
