Hey guys,
Which character is more annoying in your honest opinion? Mitch or Randy? Last edited by MistyMountainHop; 02-01-2015 at 06:51 AM Reason: Merged double-post |

Mitch. He's an unfunny, obnoxious bully.
Although I hate S8, Randy is just a "cooler" version of Eric with a dash of Kelso mixed in. Interestingly enough, he's the part of S8 I tolerated the most. Probably because the character was new to T7S and, therefore, didn't have any long-established characterization to destroy. __________________

Lisa does not like Mitch!
But if I had to choose, I guess I'd go with Mitch, too. |

Who did you find a better "replacement" character?
Roy for Leo or Joanne for Midge. I think we can all agree neither would be introduced if Leo and Midge did not leave the show. I personally couldn't stand Leo, even back then he was just such a poor replacement for Leo it always annoyed me. |

I found Joanne a better replacement character than Roy. At least Joanne actually gave Bob something to do on the show and it was an interesting storyline. I preferred Randy over Mitch, but I can't stand either one. Randy was uninteresting and felt like someone from a completely different show. Plus, his joining the gang felt weird. In one episode, he was just Hyde's employee, then in the next, he's their best friend? Give me a break. It even took a couple of episodes for them to befriend Angie, and even then, she still wasn't an official member of the group, and she was Hyde's sister! And maybe it was my imagination, but in some episodes, it seemed like he was the group's leader!
But I did read an interesting fanfic about Randy but I can't find it anywhere! It took place from his perspective and offered a VERY interesting commentary on season 8. By the way, I had an incredibly strange dream about That '70s Show last night. In my dream, I was watching season one on Blu-ray and there was a hidden bonus feature. The bonus feature was the original pilot episode for the show. I watched it and the show was completely different! "Hello It's Me" by Todd Rundgren was the theme song. Jackie had a bigger role in the show and she and Eric were mortal enemies. The episode wasn't even about him and Donna, it was about his rivalry with Jackie and them pulling pranks on each other, and eventually learning that they have to get along because she was Kelso's girlfriend. There was even one scene where he and Jackie were wrestling each other. Kelso was actually a good boyfriend for Jackie (faithful and everything), and Hyde and Kelso were really close, like brothers, and acted the exact same way. Kitty and Donna were secret leaders of an underground feminist club, and Red actually LIKED Bob. It was extremely weird, and it didn't even feel like a TV show. It felt like a movie. Imagine if you were Randy and joined the gang in season 8. What would you think of them? Particularly Jackie and Hyde. Because when Randy met them, they were their regressed, one-dimensional selves. Could you even imagine that they were a couple, let alone a couple who were close to getting married? |

FuriosityShell, that's quite a detailed dream you had! Total T7S AU!
I wouldn't want to go anywhere near the T7S characters' S8 selves. *shudder* Joanne > Roy, definitely. Roy was creepy. Doesn't matter that he supposedly didn't know any better. He harassed women out of desperation (and his stories about it were to get laughs from the audience), and he should've understood the wrongness of his approach a long time ago. But that's just the tip o' the iceberg. __________________
