It would have been interesting to see how they fell on things with Jackie/Hyde. Although how they reacted in general always made me mad.

Imagine if Eric and Donna took opposite sides to what we would expect. Donna takes Kelso's side and Eric takes Hyde's (and Jackie's) side. I have a hard time imagining that, considering how little Eric really cared that Kelso was cheating on Jackie. His main concern was that Kelso was doing it with Laurie.
Donna, though, once the cat was out of the bag, was definitely on Jackie's side. So after watching Kelso technically cheat on Jackie that summer -- before receiving Jackie's breakup letter -- she would've been on Jackie's side. She would've seen through Kelso's narcissistic hypocrisy. Donna: So you can cheat and be with all the girls you like, but Jackie can't have another relationship after breaking up with you? Kelso: No! I'm allowed to do whatever I want. I can have my cake and eat it, too, Donna! Jackie's not allowed to move on from me -- especially not with Hyde! <--- What I want to do to Kelso in that season. __________________

I can't see Eric on J/H side. I think Donna should've been on J/H side while Eric would've been on Kelso's side. This would've created some conflict with E/D which would be interesting. I wonder how they would handle that since they just got back together.

Yeah, Red wouldn't want to deal with any "teenage drama". He'd also say Jackie finally smartened up, dumped the kettlehead, and got with a fine young man (Hyde ). Then Eric would whine and go, "But, Dad, that's not the point."
Red: That's my point. Good day. Eric: Huh? Red: I said good day! __________________

Red's been hanging around Fez a bit too much. Maybe they found a mutual love of some television show and watch it together. And their new sorta friendship brings Donna and Eric back together after their conflict over Jackie and Hyde.

Fez influencing Red is a scary thought!

Maybe Fez would introduce Red to the joys of candy -- but Red wouldn't go so far as eating things off the floor.
Eric would be both jealous and miffed. Why does his father have an easier time connecting with Eric's friends than with Eric himself? __________________

Eric: Hey, Mom ... where's Dad? I've been looking for him all morning. Kitty [uncomfortable]: Your father's ... out. Eric: Out where? Kitty: Outside. Eric: Mom. Kitty: He's at a convention. Eric: A car show? Kitty: No, but he did take the car there. Eric: Okay ... what's going on? Kitty: Your father went to ... a candy convention. With Fez. Eric: With -- with Fez? A candy convention? Are you sure you don't mean Fez and Bob went to a candy convention? Kitty: Oh, I'm sure. Bob tried to get into the Toyota with them, and Red shoved him out while Fez said, "Good day." Eric: Oh, God. __________________

After Donna gets through either laughing or being horrified herself, I'm sure she'd comfort Eric about it. Or Eric would drag her to the candy convention to spy on his dad and Fez.
