They're great during seasons 1-4. Then they have a lot of really good moments during seasons 5-7, despite that the writers turned Red into a cliche put-upon husband and Kitty into a not-all-that-intelligent alcoholic. Totally OOC for both of them. But in spite of that, they're still a great example of what true love looks like after almost thirty years. Especially during seasons 1-4.

Their S1-S4 relationship is such a rarity to see on TV. They support each other in all ways. They don't always agree, but they'll listen to each other's side and come up with a solution that works. And they still have the hots for each other -- and only each other -- after being together for thirty years.

Seasons 1-4 were so special for them. You could tell how much they really loved each other.

They're really one of the all-time great TV couples, imo.

Red wasn't completely sure Kitty was "the one," though, when they first dated. He wasn't exclusive with her at first and dated at least one other woman, Lynn Taylor. Until Kitty caught them at the movie theater and either broke up with him or threatened to. Then Red realized Kitty's the only girl for him.

He was a bit of a dumbass himself when he was younger. Would've been interesting for him to share that moment from his POV with Eric and/or Hyde.

I would have loved to see Red share some stories with Hyde and Eric. They could have related to each other.

This makes me think of a scenario where Red would relate more to Eric than to Hyde. Because Red generally relates more to Hyde. Could surprise everyone involved.

It could've been a funny but also character-developing episode. And Kitty might be frightened if Red and Eric come home with their arms slung around each other's shoulders, thinking Red was on dope or had hit his head.
