I really wish we could have seen Laurie grow more. She had potential that was not explored enough.

The show did enjoy keeping its characters status quo. But they really should've continued with the original storyline for Laurie in season 6 instead of regressing her. Maybe the writers regressed her so that the new actress would seem more familiar to them as Laurie, but it was a mistake.

I didn't like the regression either. Laurie finally seemed to be going somewhere.

She did, and she should've continued to get proper development and respect. I would've loved to see Eric and others apologize for sex-enjoyment-shaming her, but that wasn't going to happen on this show. A distinction needed to be made between her enjoyment of sex and her knowingly, purposely, and maliciously pursuing men who were already in a committed relationship.

I would like for her to find a stable career she was happy with, and a man that treated her right. That could have been really good for her.

I think Laurie would've made a good cosmetician if she'd stuck with it.

Yup, it seems like a great choice for her. She always did well with herself, so I can see her bringing out the best in her clients as well.

She just needed to pay a bit more attention. She must've gotten distracted easily -- which would explain why a) she let Kitty's hair, er, marinate a little too long and b) nicked Red's cuticle during a manicure.

I agree, those are mistakes made by someone who is easily distracted. If she had applied herself more and focused on it, she could've done well.

I could see her enjoying that career, too. Finding fulfillment in it. Which could help her make better choices in other areas of her life.

Absolutely. Fez and her could've been such a power couple, both business owners.

And they could do charity events together with her hair salon and his bakery.

Aww that could be cute. Laurie and Fez would be quite the power couple.

And their local newspaper would publish a feature on them. Red would have that article framed and placed on the living room wall.

There we go! I wonder what the newspaper article would say.
