I think they would love Jackie and Hyde's kids just as much. Kitty would be happy, she would have a house full of grandchildren.

And Red would be miserable. He'd have a house full of grandchildren.

Nope. But at least he'd have a happy wife.

A happy wife equals a happy life Red.

I think that expression would resonate with him, especially in season 5.

He probably would've said it repeatedly to himself like a mantra. Maybe his buddies at the Elk's Lodge would start worrying about him.

Speaking of the Elk's Lodge, I'm not sure Red would've been part of that. He didn't like being around people. That was well-established. He had no friends (beyond Bob), either, as more than one episode made explicitly clear. His membership in the Elk's Lodge was manufactured to serve the plot of a season 6 episode. It disregarded long-established characterization, like so much of season 6 did, to create its stories.

Red really liked his alone time so that is a good point.

He thought most people were dumbasses. He had little tolerance for company except when watching sports, so him being part of a lodge makes no sense.

Kitty's Diary Entry: #11

---

Kitty Bakes Up a Fiesta!

I’ve decided to do it, something I’ve been dying to do for years and haven’t had the nerve: I’m submitting a recipe for the Pillsbury Bake-Off! All finalists are flown to New York City for the contest, and the grand prize is $25,000!

I wasn’t exactly sure what my recipe would be, but the rules say you have to use one Pillsbury product in the recipe, and I knew I wanted to use the Pillsbury Crescent Rolls. Red and the boys just love ‘em. I’d probably do a commercial for those for free if they asked.

Anyway, when I read they’re encouraging foods with an “international flavor,” it came to me -- Cheesy Mexican Taco Pie. I line a pie pan with Pillsbury Crescent Rolls for the crust. Then I fill in the crust with seasoned browned ground-beef, cheddar cheese, and sour cream. Then top it all off with Fritos. (Fritos -- that’s the Mexican.) Bake for thirty-five minutes or until the crust is golden brown or until you win $25,000!

I tried the recipe out on Red and the boys. I couldn’t wait to hear how much they loved it. Well, Red took one bite and asked if we had any ketchup. You don’t put ketchup on Cheesy Mexican Taco Pie! It’s already chock-full of flavor from the Old El Paso flavor packet. Then Eric said he was going to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Red I can understand. He’s never been receptive to ethnic cooking. We’ve had a Chinese restaurant in town for five years now, and I can’t even get Red to try it. But I thought I had raised Eric to be open-minded and enjoy things from all over the world, especially cuisine from our neighbors to the south.

Thankfully, Steven enjoyed his. He ate his whole serving and asked for more. I said to Red and Eric, “See, Steven knows what’s good even if you two don’t.”

Then Steven said, “Yeah, it’s great. It’s a lot the like this potato-chip casserole my mom used to make.”

Well, that did it. I can’t win with something that tastes like potato-chip casserole. So I’ve decided to enter my Nutmeg Marshmallow Bake. You use Hungry Jack Biscuits, miniature colored marshmallows, and four sticks of butter. You can’t go wrong with four sticks of butter.

How many recipes or dishes did we hear Kitty say she made? Or see that she made? I wonder if we could make a list.
