Will Yun Lee/Jae Kim Appreciation #1

Welcome to the Will Yun Lee/Jae Kim Appreciation thread!

Will Yun Lee @ imdb

-------------------

I noticed we didn't have a thread for him yet and thought it would be a good idea to have a place to discuss everything about him and his character on BW.

Looks like he is Jamie's main teacher/advisor when it comes to mastering her new skills.

Do you guys think his experience with Sarah Corvus is an advantage or a burden when it comes to training Jamie?

I'm glad you started this thread Nad I think he's a good fit for the show.

He's got the actual martial arts training to be Jamie's instructor. I liked him in "Elektra", (as a Jenn Garner fan, I'm sure you noticed he was the main bad guy in that movie).

I think it's a definite advantage, but I'd like to find out the backstory between him and Sarah and why they "fell in love", etc.

I did, but it took me some time to recognize him . I was like "I know that guy..." and had to check his information at IMDB later on.

His backstory with Sarah is a very important thing IMO - can't wait to learn more about their past, should be really interesting .

One more question is, why do not see him on missions with Jamie yet? I think we will see him eventually, but I'd like for him to be more than just the "martial arts" teacher guy. It's early on in the show, but give the guy some decent material

Good point, Alex - one would certainly think he'd accompany Jamie on missions, especially since she isn't fully trained yet . I think she could learn quite a bit from him 'in the field'.

Well, I'd like to see him on missions with Jamie in the future

When they were setting up to capture Sarah in the episode and the soliders showed up, I thought for a moment he maybe leading them, but it's obvious he's not in that part of the job. Maybe his role is just to be the instructor.

Well, even if he's just an instructor, wouldn't it be logical for him to go in the field with her to show her some tricks once in a while? Especially when she's still new at her 'job'.

I really hope we'll see him going on a mission with her at one point.

Which is where the conflict with the Isaiah Washington character comes in. It was obvious that Jae didn't approve of the "unleash the animal" lesson

I think Jae is a really good asset to this show. I can really see Jae and Jaime's friendship grow.

Ooo, I can't wait to see that "Unleash the animal" scene tonight then. I've been reading that Isaiah's character seems almost psychotic. Hehe, if that happens, Jae can kick his ass

It's really bothering me that Jae seems to be fading from the show. In the first couple of episodes, he was a main character but in "The List" he had about 3 lines!! I want him to actually be important!

I'd love to see more of him as well - with him training Jaime, we might actually see him more often (at least that's what I hope for). Also, I still hope he will be accompanying her on a mission at one point.

I found this interview with Will Yun Lee on youtube today:

It's from October 07, but I think it's still interesting to hear his thoughts on the show
