Yes! I completely agree. I can't understand how anyone could do that to their children... Lily really isn't a good mother. I feel bad for Serena - after all she doesn't really have a father so she needs her mom even more.

how should lily really there be for her kids if her own mother was never really there for her too. i mean ok lily should have learned from this.. but i think if you have not really experienced this love from your own mum, then you has this really difficult to show this love for your own kids. you know..
lily had this never really learned and she could never be alone.... these reasons why this is, like that is, lays in lilys past. and i feel for her there..but now lily has rufus , so the first thing is happened, she is never more alone


and i think i love more the relationship from serena and her mum this season.
the last season, serena was not even very nice to her own mum sorry

season one jenny was at the beginning something to boring for me sorry.. the sweet little angel but this was all.. then there came this with blair. and i have to say here.. i think jenny wanted even be like blair.. have you not seen that? and now she is queen, she is not the second b or so what.. but she someone!! she is not brooklyn poor jenny more.. she is someone!! and i think that was like a dream for her.. but i think she should be attentive in this holy rosa red glasses world.. she can loose the way very fast...
and i hope she gets back her fashion line-.

What I don't get is Jenny saw how Blair's minions viciously turned on her, and she said she didn't want any part of the whole "Queen Bee" thing, and we also saw her beat the minions at their own game, so none of this makes sense to me. I also never got the impression that Jenny was ashamed of being from Brooklyn, so her being ashamed of it now also makes no sense to me.

I also don’t have the sympathy and understanding for Jenny’s motivations for being Queen Bee like I did with Blair, so while I loved Blair no matter what she did, I can’t feel the same way for Jenny.

Well Jerry for me it's the opposite because Blair had everything while Jenny was the outsider trying to fit in.

I completely agree Jerry I understand what the writers are trying to do with Jenny but I don't see any basis for it in past episodes. It's almost a retcon. I also agree with everyone who said that Blair's motives were always made clear to the audience, if not the characters, so it's easier to forgive nastiness. Jenny has turned out of nowhere and she doesn't really have the background that would make her sympathetic to me. She comes from a loving home/family, with all the support in the world. I could feel for B because while it appeared she had everything, she really had only shells. Whereas Jenny is the opposite. Jenny really does have everything. Bitchy, snobby girls who don't have underlying causes for it (other than wanting to be popular) are pretty far down on my list of interesting, sympathetic characters

agree with this. I think both B and J have had their different motivations for chasing their Queen status so hard. Unfortunately while Jenny was rather (unnecessarily) bitchy this ep, I GET why she was that way. She needed/wanted to prove herself capable of getting these things on her own, despite being from Brooklyn. I didn't think attacking Blair made sense, but maybe she was trying to pull ranks?

Blair had everything in a material sense but what about her best friend leaving, sleeping with her boy friend, her mother being a Serena fan girl. Blair became Queen, when Serena left because she could finally show herself and not be in the shadow of Serena. Blair wanted to be Queen because she wanted to be noticed, she wanted people to see her ant not Serena's friend, she wanted to be noticed especially by Nate and her mother. Blair might have had moeny but she did have a lot of issues. And Jenny wants to become Queen because she feels ashamed that she comes from Brooklyn. Since when is she ashamed she comes from Brooklyn? Last year she was showing the older girls, that she doesn't care, what they think and that she is above all this...now we see what a hypocrite she is.

She needed/wanted to prove herself capable of getting these things on her own, despite being from Brooklyn.

She should realize that just because she is from Brooklyn, doesn't make her a worse person.

She knows that but the UES side people don't think that, I mean how many times has Blair or Chuck (even Serena) dissed Brooklyn? It's become a running joke on this show. Even in the last episode Blair said that Jenny already had one strike against her because of the whole Brooklyn thing and we saw the slight animosity towards her when she entered the room w/ the other debutantes and queens for the waltzing lesson. She's still an outsider, she hasn't grown up w/ these people, she hasn't been practicing and doing the things they've been doing for years now. They're in a community that she just can't be part of easily just because she married into money.

You can't use her mom not being there for her when she was young as an excuse for treating your kids like that that's like... idk no parent should make the same mistakes their parents did. And I do think Lily should be smart enough to understand that... I mean sure I bet she has/had her own problems too but honestly? Just leaving your kids without telling them is not okay.

And Serena wasn't nice to Lily in Season 2? I don't even remember that

As far as Lily being a horrible parent. None of the UES parents are what I'd call ideal. I don't consider Lily any better or worse than the others.

I don't really understand what you mean... you're talking about episode twelve of season one? When Serena asked her mother not to go away with Rufus? I probably would've done the same thing if I would've been in that situation.

And Lily wasn't exactly nice to Serena a lot of times I mean who calls the police on her daughter to avoid a scandal?! I don't call that nice I don't hate Lily - in fact I actually like her, but she has done a lot of bad stuff regarding her kids in the past - you can't really deny that

I don't think Rufus has anything to do with Lily's ways to raise her kids Maybe she sees the way he treats Dan/Jenny and regrets what she did but I really don't think so

For me this is not about hating Lily (Like I said earlier, I don't hate her ), this is about how I don't get how you could treat your children like that
