Gossip Girl - Tagging guidelines ( you need 100 posts to be able to tag)

tagging tutorial by Haylie (Agent Alex)

This is to help anyone that's confused on how to tag.

When starting a new thread at the bottom of where you post the opening posts you have the tags type in your tags, if you want to use more than one tag remember to use a comma.

If you want to add tags to a thread that are already made or already has tags look for the tag feature box at the bottom of the thread and then all the way to the right is the edit tags

While adding a tag you will see this (using the example abc) for this print screen you will get an auto complete. After you tag click save changes.

This is how a thread with tag(s) will look

Also, if you need a tag that isn't created you can PM the moderators of that board.

gossip girl tag guidelines
reminder: think of tagging like you do on tumblr!

couples

character first name + last name
actor/actress first name + last name
couple/gossip girl/first name A + first name B

ex: chuck bass, blair waldorf, leighton meester, ed westwick, gossip girl, couple, chuck and blair

nate and serena
nate and juliet
nate and vanessa
nate and jenny
carter and serena
aaron and serena
nate and blair
bart and lily
chuck and blair
etc

the tagging for DS, DB and DV should be: Dan/Blair, Dan and Serena, Dan and Vanessa,

characters

character first name + last name
actor/actress first name + last name
gossip girl

ex: chace crawford, gossip girl, nate archibald,

game threads

game/ name of the game

ex: game, hate or love,
game, abc,
game, this or that,

OT thread:

ex: off topic, gossip girl

friendship threads:

character first name + last name
actor/actress first name + last name
gossip girl/friendship

ex: chace crawford, ed westwick, chuck bass, nate archibald, friendship,

family threads:

bart bass + lily vdw = van der bass
( lily should be tagged as lily van der woodsen)

rufus humphrey + lily vdw = van der woodsen
( lily should be tagged as lily humphrey)

you can also add a 'family' tag.

more threads

tagging for threads like music, music video, icon, arts should be like this:

gossip girl, music,
gossip girl, fan art,
gossip girl, icon,
gossip girl, music video,

episode threads

Episode discussion threads should be tagged:
gossip girl, episode discussion,

reminder:
since I get confused by this so many times it should be eric and not erik.
and Lily related tags should be tagged as: lily van der woodsen

I'm not sure what you mean, but tagging threads makes it easier for posters to find threads and find threads that are related to that couple or character.

i dont get this

if i click on this strange thing there on the right side there i can see this tags.. but i can not click on the tags

Are you talking about on the main baord or when you go into a thread and try to add tags?
Can you take a print screen of the what you are referring to please

The tags are under the last post of the thread, and it looks something like this:

so you just click on the 'edit tags' to add a tag and if you want to click on it you just go over to where it says 'abc' or 'rufus and lily' and you click on it.

Great to have this thread!

Question though. Why is Lily tagged like that? I guess, just personally, it makes me not want to tag anything with her. Maybe I'm just used to my own mom still having the same last name as me after she got remarried just because she wanted to have the same name at her children. I still feel like she's a vdW over anything else. especially if you're using vdB/vdH as a ship name. Lily's maiden name is Rhodes so why would van der Woodsen be part of the name?

Lily van der Woodsen is still the character name...

(Sorry for making a fuss, ladies. I love you all, but I can't help at least bring it up.)

Jackie, I think it's because there were more Lily Humphrey tags then Lily Vdw ones, so when the tag got merged into one it became 'Lily Humphrey'.

And on the Gossip Girl official site it's Humphrey.
