Which is what most of us NSers have been saying these past couple of threads. He's trying SO hard to not make people like them but he kind of has to give them something once in a while because of the books. Who else with common sense would give NS, who apparently have a good friendship - no scenes? He does have a strong bias against Nate in general. He absolutely adores Dan (personally, because I think he sees himself as Dan) and if you noticed that in all his TV shows the dork gets the girl. So, I'm not going to say anything about it but I guess you know what I mean. Not trying to bash- but he's being stubborn and wasting the ship with imo, with just so much potential. AND- he cheapened NS in so many ways from the books. Okay, I do get that he has to differentiate the books from the show but two major things that pissed me off, no make that three:

1) They BOTH lost their virginities to each other, sober. In fact Nate (who had recently, at that time, become addicted to pot) wanted to be complete 'sober' when he met up with Serena. The barstool!sex was beyond hot, but ... it just took away so much meaning.

2) Serena left because she couldn't take seeing Nate/Blair together and she felt guilty about lying to Blair. On the show she 'killed someone' (wtf). That cheapened both NS, and BS.

3) Serena was SERIOUSLY in love with Nate. No it wasn't obvious in most of the books because she hid her feelings really well and she thought she got over him but in the 2 ending books she realized she loved him and in the prequel she was seriously into him. On the show, Josh tries to make us believe she didn't care and Nate, aka the hottest guy in New York, is just being retarded and chasing her like a love sick puppy. No. Wtf.

I'm not saying that the books should be like the show- but the amount he cheapened NS by is just RIDICULOUS. Might as well just show us throw a pile of crap on us, shouldn't he?

Same thing with me Nikki. I agree to all the points you focused on.

That's why I kinda hate Josh. He is SO bias, character-wise.

I mean - at least in OTH even if Mark obviously preferred Peyton above all the other female characters - he developed Brooke so beautifully and made her THE most evolved character in the series. That's called professionalism and good talent. A tasteful approach to his work.

I love them both so friggin much!

(IMO, THATS a real friendship. Not this Serena/Blair crap!)

Oh, I totally know what you mean! On the the OC he had a bad boy/girl (RM) that he wrote in detail, and he had the dork/hot girl (summer/seth) that were together in the end. Its the same on this show and pretty much every other couple is a plot devise.

Oh, I was PEEVED about this. I was all for the idea that she left becauase of her conflicting feelings for Nate, but we were never shown that. And hen apparently the real reason she left is because she killed someone? WTF. Not to mention that whole storyline was just ridiculous. Epic FAIL.

And he could have at LEAST SHOWN Serena's feelings for Nate more clearly. I mean, if you creat a couple, people are gonna like them together. NS have a fanbase, so why not give them some stuff now and then?! Jeez.

I hate critics because they are so mean. And most of the time I like the couples they hate. LOL. They hate the cheesy ones. And I dont like cheese necessarily but I like the couples that are written as "meant to be" the majority of the time. However, I am also a big angst shipper so if a couple has that, Im all for it. IE Nate/Serena.

Josh is young, I guess. He's still learning but the way he just shrugs NS off annoys me to pieces. You aren't suppose to do that as a producer, you should be open to different pairings. He absolutely loathes Nate, its pretty apparent, so I guess he doesn't want Nate to get the one thing he's wanted the most, and just makes him look like a tard running around in circles. Since he lurks forums I hope he reads this stuff- in hopes it'll improve his professionalism.

Yeah I never really understood WHY Dan liked Serena so much. Especially since because she USED to be such a worse person. I mean, its clear he is just shallow and liked her for her looks! lmao. Because she pretty much defines what he hated about the UES. However, I guess he just thought she was hot and fantasized about her but when he finally met her he saw she had a heart too.

Yeah and if anything else - what happened between her and Nate was the reason for her conviction to change - not because she didn't want Nate but because she didn't want to hurt other people. She knows that her being happy (being with Nate) at that time was gonna mean being selfish because it would mean that she would have to hurt Blair and Nate's parents. But both Serena and Nate do not have it in their nature to be selfish (although I was proved wrong a bit when Serena asked Lily to not be with Rufus - it's all Dan's doing I tell you).

I mean, I understood where she was coming from- but she had no right to pressure Lily like that. But in a way I'm glad, because we got the van der Basses out of it. ^^
