I love how non NSers (not you, Alex

) but others I've talked to realize some of the same things about NS. I just don't get why some people refuse to admit the obvious.

Chuck is by far the best character. I think book!Blair and show!Blair pwns, but book!Blair I like a bit more.

I never got into Harry Potter, I just go to the movies but don't pay much attention. Not much of a sci fi/wizard person.

They did a great job with Chuck. He is a hard man to spell out and there's always this dark mystery about him and, at the same time, he harbors this intense vulnerability. I love Show!Blair better than Book!Blair though. I guess mostly because of Leighton. I was on Team Serena in the books. Tha girl made me cry so many times.

They were so beautiful. I do sometimes think that's why the writers are not writing them in the show - they're afraid to eff a thing that is so epic.

I don't know if I should be mad or glad they're taking their time with NS. We'll see how it plays out. Maybe they're holding out for a good reason?

I dont know if they are necessarily holding out to make NS EPIC or anything. But I think they are holding off because its a potential storyline and they dont want to dive into it too soon when they can use it later.

We kinda sorta got that with Dan/nate/chuck though. I mean, Chuck was so jealous. Or do you mean in a more romantic sense? haha. That would be interesting.

Honestly, I dont like J that much. Shes never been one of my favorite characters. Nate makes her more bearable for me. But for some reason I like NJ together. Not quite sure why because I see all the reasons why people hate them. I guess I just see chemistry between the actors. I personally think they are both so gorgeous, so hey, maybe I am biased. I love all the actors on the show. But character wise, I only love the 3 main boys and Blair.

I wont get into 90210 convo because I dont like anything on the show except the relationship that everyone seems to hate. LOL. But I do find Dustin/Jessica extremely cute.

I have my ships. And sometimes I am biased with certain things, but for the most part Id like to believe that I view all shows from an outsiders perspective. And I am honest with what I see. I dont understand those people who are so nieve to whats really happening in the show. I mean, do they think lying to themselves will make things come true? For example, I remember when the show started people were saying that Nate wasnt dating Blair just because of his parents. And I was shocked. I mean, Nate said it over and over that dating Blair wasnt what he wanted. And they even had Chuck say to Blair that Nate was only with her because it helped his parents. I mean, how obvious does it need to be? I think people just get threatened when the writing is bad for their couple. And honestly, who cares? If you like someone, go for it. You dont have to justify WHY you like them. Thats how it is with all couples. I love DS and NJ but I can see their flaws. Some people....

I have never read the books but I know if I did I would ship NS. But I think its good we have the show and then the books. They can stay as two seperate things. However, I dont know why Josh didnt just create his own show and characters BASED on the gossip girl books? I mean, then he would have complete control with the storylines. Whatever though.

Yeah, I do separate book!NS from show!NS which is why I try not bringing them up too often because if I compare them to the show I get really disappointed.

Not to offend any DSers, but since chemistry is subjective- I don't see it. I find Penn/Blake very adorable together in real life, so I'm not being bias on that point. I guess, this may however not necessarily be true in every case, it is hard for people in a relationship off screen to translate the chemistry on screen. I don't know. I can't always justify why I like a ship but I can justify why I hate a ship- because hating for no reason is lame.

The fact that NS has a decent amount of shippers and nothing to back it up is kind of a sign to me that there really is something with these two and they do have the potential to have a big fanbase - since that's what Josh is interested in a lot of times. No, I'm obviously not going to compare DS' fanbase to ours, they have about a million more scenes, but I'm saying that it could come pretty close. Most people watch the show for CB and more flexible to other pairings.

I honestly don't have to much faith in Josh as a producer. I mean, he kind of comes off as ratings hungry (though I do know so many other producers do as well), but I think he should listen more to critics. I do agree with most things critics say about GG. A large amount (most) dislike DS, don't find a point to Vanessa or find her bland and some other things, I'm just really tired right now I can't remember. They've been watching a lot of television- so I trust they know what they're talking about.

Another reason that I really like NS is because of how persisitant Nate was with Serena. He really made me believe that he liked her, which is something that I havent really felt with anyone else. Maybe its Chace/Blake shining through, but Nate always appeared to be way more intersted in Serena romantically than any of the others.

I dont think Josh loves Nate by any means. LMAO. But I definately think that Josh doesnt like NS. I thin he wrote them in because of the books, but I dont think he ever really wants to go there. In an interview someone mentioned NS and he kind of brushed it off. Then he mentioned that Serena didnt have feelings for Nate. It made me sad, actually.

Like I said, I dont hate any ships. (EXCEPT 1.) and in that case its because I feel like the writing is just horrible. But other than that, it takes far too much effort to hate a couple. The main thing that I ship in couples is chemistry. And I think that applies to everyone. I mean, if you dont feel the chemistry, how can you really like two people together? But chemistry is so subjective its hard to base validity of any couples on that. The second thing I have to really LOVE a couple is the writing. If a couple is written really well it makes me want them together that much more. For me to obsess over a couple, they have to have both writing/chemistry. I cant ship couples that dont have chemistry though, but I CAN support them. And the only time I dislike couples is usually when the writing sucks for them. (ie they arent given anything to work with, they are boring/cheesey, or they are just a bad couple that always fights and or one cheats on the other!)

For example, I think Rufus/Lily are written well as a COUPLE. But I perosnally dont see chemistry. So I dont ship them but I support them. With Nate/Serena I see a lot of chemistry and the writing for them (at least at the beginning) was pretty good. So I LOVE them. D/B have great chemistry, are written poorly, but I still like them a lot because the chem saves them for me. And Nate/Blair I think have good chemistry, but they were written so bad. HE CHEATED ON HER so I could NEVER like them together.

I hope I didnt confuse anyone with my weird explanation there.

Personally, I HATE critics. HATE HATE HATE them. I think writers should do what they want. After the Shonda/Greys Anatomy debacle I just cant take it. lol.
